While adding Italians and Canadians as separate factions would be a nightmare, new squads!, that may or may not be whole countries in the future sounds atractive!. I think it would revitalize a bit the map variety to have scenarios based on the Anzio Battle.
Nevertheless an ITALIAN FACTION would still be well received. Specially since most of the gear needed to build the squads is alredy ingame

Yea, Italy definitely needs a new faction. There’s too much things in Germany’s tech tree, and a lot of things are foldered, so it’s hard to tell if you’ve researched something.
I haven’t counted it, but Italy might have more equipment than Japan, and there’s definitely enough for at least a BR 4.
And you won’t have to see Italian soldiers in fronts where they weren’t there.
However, some people do complain that they want their premium squads to stay in Germany for some reason.
Additionally what will happen to the Italian equipment still in Germany? (it’ll probably follow the same treatment as the MP717r and Mannlicher M93)
And how will matchmaking work for maps like Tunisia where Germans and Italians both fought? (Will it be GER vs USA/UK, ITALY vs USA/UK, ITALY+GER vs USA/UK, etc
Nonetheless, I highly support having separate factions for Italy and UK.

4 factions do not suffice, we need more armies, but at the end of the day, there are so many free spaces on the research tree for the factions that are in game right now, that I wouldn’t hold my breath for this.

A UK Commonwealth faction would be a great addition along with an Italian faction and Italian campaign. A Commonwealth faction would highlight all the UK, as well as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South African forces.
Although Australian, New Zealand and maybe even Indian or Hong Kong troops would also be relevant against the Japanese as well, and expand the Pacific theatre battles from just the mainly US Marines maps we have right now.

Yes there is a lot of equipment of all types which are more than enough to get to tier 4 (even 5 if you stretch a little)
The only weak point ( but this too is not at the level of Japan ) are the heavy tanks since we lack a tank that can compete against the various Tiger / IS / Peshing which can be partly compensated by Semoventi and Autocannoni
If you want to turn a blind eye to historicity a little there would also be the Tiger and the P43Bis (After all, Japan is about to receive a tank that perhaps didn’t even exist…)
