After the arrival of the Merge, events will arrive with squads of engineers to replace those in Stalingrad and I thought of a possible version for the Italian faction.
Since there are many Genio guastatori, I’ll leave it up to the developers which unit to use. For now I’ll just propose which skin they might have and which weapons.
Dispositivo di radio-guida per militari isolati (radio guidance device for isolated soldiers)
A curious device about which unfortunately I have very little information but which is purely aesthetic in game
It is a system for the assault engineers, since smoke bombs were used to cover the assault so as not to make the soldiers lose orientation, this device should have been used which I believe worked more or less like the night bomber orientation systems.
Some information indicates that the final version of the device was presented by the company on 30 June 1943 and that the delivery of the other 9 pieces was awaited.
it would be a very unique style and would definitely suit an event squad
Weapons
Italy has very few assault rifles but has many SMGs that can be used (for now I will post 1 SMG and 2 possible assault rifles)
Armaguerra Mod.35
a weapon that has little information
The Mod. 35 was designed in 1935 by the firm of Armaguerra in Genoa. It does not appear to have been produced in significant numbers, as it was not commercially successful. At least one sample of the weapon is known to survive today in a museum in Terni (does anyone have information on its existence in the museum? some photos would be fantastic)
The Armaguerra Mod. 35 was a blowback-operated submachine gun. It had no select-fire capability and fired exclusively in full-auto. The weapon feeds from detachable box magazines feeding from a magazine well located on the right of the weapon.
Scotti Naval rifle Mod.1930
(I post this for completeness but I strongly believe that this weapon must be placed in the tech tree as a possible competitor against weapons like STG/Fedorov for when the faction separates from Germany)
In the early 1930s, the Italian designer Alfredo Scotti developed a gas-operated automatic rifle that had all the hallmarks of an embryonic assault rifle: chambered for a reduced-load 6.5×52mm cartridge, light enough to be fired from the shoulder, and feeding from a detachable box magazine. The catch - it was designed as an anti-aircraft weapon for sailors aboard patrol boats. Experience in the Adriatic Sea during World War I had exposed the Italian Navy to the threat that low-flying biplanes could pose against small ships and thus this weapon was proposed as a remedy. A small batch of working prototypes were built, some fitted with elevated stocks and AA sights, and the intention seems to have been to use it both as a shoulder-fired weapon and from a fixed mount. It was not as effective as a conventional machine gun, however, and the Navy had no need for a portable automatic rifle at that time. It was rejected from service and soon forgotten.

Terni Mod.21
The Terni Mod.21 was a recoil-operated automatic rifle built around the Carcano M.91. It featured a selective-fire function and fed from horizontally staggered clips in a feed mechanism derived from the FIAT-Revelli M1914 machine gun. Prototypes were also made that fed from a detachable box magazine.
The Model 1921 was chambered for the experimental 7.35×32mm cartridge. The cartridge had a velocity of 2,000 feet per second (610 metres per second) and had case base dimensions similar to that of the 6.5×52mm Carcano cartridge.
