It is completely unnecessary to grade handguns

There is no need to level handguns in the new level, as they are an auxiliary weapon. For example, the C96 will not affect game balance even in level 1 or level 2, and the first handgun of some factions is not powerful, such as the Soviet revolver.
So I don’t think it’s necessary to grade handguns.
Or let the highest level of the pistol be level two.

Let’s hope it’s just unlock progress tier, and even best pistols will have low BR

I thought ‘handgun’ is Chinglish but I got wrong. Revolvers are handgun but not pistols. That’s interesting.

Glad to learn the fact.

And I agree with the topic, too.

Not really, there are some without a spread like italian nonna making pizza dough. For example Browning Hi-Power obtained from Events is pretty cool, Walther is just decent. Also Baretta m1934 is decent aiming beast. Colt and Nambu type 14, the rest of the weapons are just one - three shots while you dont really have time to reload, then you die

There’s certain Japanese handgun that’s so cool it has written “be safe” in description for no good reason whatsoever.

It deserves its own tier imho.

It’s just a little reference)

Nambu Type 94 - one of the most dangerous handguns ever made. The design of the breech allows the Type 94 Nambu to be fired unintentionally. Because the sear bar is on the outside of the pistol, it can be accidentally discharged if the pistol was cocked and handled carelessly.

During the Pacific war, a small group of US marines landed on a small island called Abemama to capture it and deal with the tiny Japanese garrison located on it. The marines and the Japanese would skirmish and eventually retreat back to their respective positions (the Japanese their garrison and the Marines the beach.) The Japanese commander tried to rally his troops for a counter attack to remove the Marines by waving his pistol above his head while making a speech. In his speech he accidently shot himself in the head, killing himself (I assume the one he was using was the type 94 which had this problem). The Japanese troops, now leaderless, killed themselves. Eventually the Marines were alerted of this by the natives of the island and took it with little effort.

Wow…

Basic gun safety…but unlucky

I can just picture gunnie from pacific going off about not keeping gun pointed down range.

I am not sure.
I played various factions, and some revolvers had a very long reload time (Soviet Berlin and Allied Tunisia comes to mind). These can be a… starting pistols of sorts, but it should be a weapon of desperation in any case.
Some pistols are more convenient (and better) to use than others, like C96 is basically the best on the axis side. And it corresponded, to some degree, to the silver order costs.

But overall, I don’t think pistols should have a significant effect on Battle Rating.
They can have a tiny bit (depending on how it works), but it should be negligible.

The silver order pricing for pistols are weird as hell.
2 for a pistol because it is considered good. While SMGs, MGs, Anti tank weapons etc costs only 1 Silver lol
