Recently, the devs clearly have a fascination with Winchester rifles—so why not offer a Winchester in the US faction as well? After all, this weapon even saw service in China

Its predecessor, the Winchester 1873, also saw service in China. I’m really looking forward to seeing this weapon appear in-game. In fact, China had its own cowboys too

Nice, another gun for Japan.

Yes, that 2 Winchester rifles+ :dagger: you suggesting looks awesome
Better than No.4 which has :poop: sight, uncanny BR2 fedo

Winchester rifles, long 38 are the no scope bolties I only approve in game, other no scope bolties are :poop: to the gameplay

I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. This weapon was fielded by the XIII Taibao of the Northwest Army—a unit that had already been annihilated by 1930. With the subsequent arms embargo era, Japan couldn’t have captured it. Besides, it wasn’t even standard issue for the XIII Taibao. If you’re desperate for a scenario, you might as well claim the Japanese fished a Liu rifle out of the Pacific seabed.

Do NOT give a winchester to the US, they didn’t use them during WWII and we already have an event and a bp winchester.

Why not? Japan has used those experimental weapons, not to mention the British Commonwealth allies—they employed all sorts of weapons.

Fair point, but my counter is this. Japan’s TT would be basically empty without prototypes/limited production gear. Japanese get prototypes for balance reasons. The US already has a full TT, and the Winchester was not used during WWII (by the US). A winchester M70 rifle would be a cool adition, would love to see a marine sniper squad event.

I’m not worried about bloated tech trees. The more toys, the more fun. The game already has tons of weapons that were never officially adopted. Adding a lever-action rifle is no big deal—isn’t it kind of funny, though?
Britain doesn’t get the Lewis gun, but the Soviets do. The U.S. doesn’t have the high-fire-rate BR-2 Thompson, but Japan does. The M3 half-track with 250kg bomb loadouts for the P-40? The devs’ bias against the U.S. is like taking Tommy’s toys and giving them to Yamamoto and Makarov instead.
