It’s just a bug I think. The disarm reserve button doesn’t replace your upgraded rifle for a non-upgraded one either. At least the basic rifles at least. e.g. It keeps a 3-star M1903 instead of replacing it with a 0-star one. Bit annoying to say the least.

The presets for equipment are currently overall broken.
