How about a new grenade thats the middle ground between impact-grenade and frag?
A short fuse frag-grenade, that (for balance reasons) has shorter range and smaller AoE (compared to frag-grenade), but a fuse time of 3-4 seconds (instead of 5 seconds like the normal frag-grenade).
The short-grenade is slightly easier to use for short-mid range, but sacrifices lethality and AoE (but not as much as impact grenade).
So in short, here are the roles each grenade have to make it easier to understand what purpose the new grenade has:
the new grenade for medium range because of its shorter fuse time, throwing range- and AoE.
frag for long range. For short range too if you can avoid dying while cooking, which makes it risky but rewarding.
impact for short range, but usually has mediocre pay off, because its VERY easy to use.
Its historically accurate, so its ok to implament this (Im the source, trust me bro). Or is this too radical to be added?
And what ideas would you guys like to share on the topic of new grenades?
I dislike the idea of having grenades with different fuse times. Dying to explosions you can’t react to is annoying, the fuse time to cook the grenade is the drawback of indirect fire AOE.
I would like to see shaped charges do better damage through obstacles, e.g. the japanese stick mine could be used on the outside wall of a house, damaging troops on the inside. The TNT could also be updated in this way to add functionality. In short, I think I would prefer more work on the current explosives.
