Is there a way to TOGGLE the iron sights zooming mode?

Is there any way to toggle the zoom when using the iron sights so that right mouse button doesn’t need to be held continually? With the default control setup, right click toggle zooms in at 1x, but the zoom effect for both iron sights rifles as well as rifles with a scope requires holding down the right mouse button continually. I never use the 1x zoom and I find that having to hold down the right mouse button continually is counter intuitive to having accurate aiming abilities with my mouse. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There’s a way you can add Sticky toggle to your keys. Under your controls, in weapons, you hover over aim, and I believe it will pop up like button setup (where you set controls to hold, fast press, etc), should be the last option on the list.

Rebind leaning to C/V
Then zoom to E with “sticky toggle”

Is it impossible to do this with right mouse button? I have been accustomed to using right mouse button for aiming since the year 2000

You need 1x for cqc 2x for long range.
Clicking mouse instead of holding it, to get 1x isn’t comfortable.

I find the opposite true. I don’t ever use 1x in Enlisted, at least with my 27" screen running 1920x1080, 1x with iron sights is just about worthless to me even if not using a rifle. I played around in Practice Mode just a moment ago and came up with this setup. I find it REALLY confusing that there are 3 aiming mode settings actually! In fact, I actually “cleared” right mouse button for AIMING because, as far as I can tell, it’s redundant!

You can see that I have Aiming 2 on right mouse button “Press” with sticky keys enabled, and Zoom on right mought button “Hold” with sticky keys enabled. This lets me right click and it will hold the zoomed in state, rather than having to hold the button.

Once again these settings are tricky because there are little to no explanation as to what the settings do. In fact it almost seems as if the settings are reverse, as the “Zoom” settings seems to refer to 1x iron sights and “Aiming 2” seems to refer to the actual zoomed in state, which definitely seems opposite of what you would assume they mean. Maybe a member of the development team can chime in on this?

Aiming 1 and 2 do the same. You want to use both if you want 1 to be toggled and 1 holded.
Zoom adds 2x for all irons and toggles optic if you have one.
Thats why clicking is without zoom and holding - with.

What is the difference between AIMING and AIMING 2?

No difference. At all.
But you can aim with 4 different buttons in 2 different modes.

How is it 4 different buttons? I only see 3 spots where you can edit buttons for aiming. Unless of course you’re talking about “breath holding” as the 4th option.

3d column is also for binds

I overlooked that! Thank you.

If a weapon, e.g. M1 garand, has optics that do not interfere with the mechanical sight, then by clicking the RMB once you will aim through the mechanical sight, and by holding the RMB you will aim through the scope. In the case of weapons without additional optics, right-clicking on them allows you to shoot accurately at close range without losing rotation speed, and you also have a larger angle of view.

Yes I understand - some of the sniper rifles have backup iron sights. I can still use this functionality even with my new keybinding setup.

What’s unusual is that the Springfield sniper rifle does not have backup iron sights but will still allow you to go into the backup iron sights view - but you can’t see anything as you’re looking straight into the scope mount.

From my limited experience, the G43 sniper doesn’t have backup sights, but the SVT40, Mosin Nagant, and K98 sniper variants do.

Always helpful.

I have found a way. Both buttons are in sticky toggle. Works with scopes doesn’t. All toggle. I don’t know if someone had already discovered this or what because I was also looking if I can just toggle scoping/sighting because I have problems with my fingers.

“Works with scopes doesn’t go to the iron sights when you have the scope equip” edit

Necropost.
