The bit of additional firepower that is only effective in specific situations and the fact that you have to scramble for your PPD anyway when you’ve made your blast and the enemy isn’t down makes me question the need for such a weapon in the assault role.
Do you agree or do you recommend any specific tactic that I’m missing?
i don’t deny that if you play close quarter it’s fun and effective.
although it really depend from your gameplay style. because you have to mind that carrying two weapons makes you really slow.
my general idea is, more firepower comes always handy. especially for the more ammonution ( since you carry two weapons ). but mobility is also a factor that you should consider, as this would limit you if you have to cover some ground, or preatty much cross open fields.
axe is 500 grm heavier than knife. that also count with the rest.
well, you can solve this issue if you have full and filled squad of soldiers made by 3/4/5 stars up. in order that you move with them, and they can cover you pretty well.
Having a shotgun and a rifle makes you pretty slow, but not as slow as having a machine gun.
Again, I would recommend a pistol with a shotgun. Even at close range the reload rate makes it bad in most situations. If you can sink headshots with a nagant revolver, or if you’re lucky enough to get a tokarev, it’s usable.
The base stats of the gunners include -1 mobility, which is why they are slower. engi has +1 mobility which is why he can outrun nearly everything with the hammer out. Radioman should theoretically be faster with +2 mobility but due to the radio doesnt.
