There are a lot of jets now… Can this thing actually compete in higher battle ratings? are all those machine guns good at keeping it alive?
I saw one today that flew for about 10 minutes and bombed dozens of people. People’s excitement about using jets has subsided, they’ve gone back to their tanks.
Why use this if the Pe2 and Su2 are better?

If you mean the turret then I would say no.
The AI useing the turrets has horrible aim/ reaction time meaning the enemy should always have enough time to dump enough round into your plane to cripple/shoot it down before the turrets actually can shoot him down regardless of the plane you are in.

If they don’t have any aircraft of their own and/or don’t build AA then even the Po-2 can kill dozens!
But basically the answer to the OP question is no, it isn’t competitive - the MG’s might cause a little damage - my AI gunners in every a/c that has them almost always get “hits” before I die - but they rarely stop me dying or kill the other guy.
