People are stateing there is too much grind etc and its getting boring but there is not that many grind in the game…
Lets say you play world of warships or world of tanks. There are at least 70 tier 10 ships and tanks in those games. All of them takes around 1 month for avarge/ below average players to grind. So lets say around 50 hours and you need to do that at least 5 times to be able to participate in most events etc ( I think its the same in WT) In Enlisted you can grind a campgin in 5*24 hours without premium and without good stats (at least thats what i saw) and when you reach it you get really good guns like STG fg AVT etc and from then you can easily dominate the game not like in WT where everyone “can one shot you”
So i more or less think its just game design that makes you belive you need to grind a lot but you dont need to in my opinion. Like you grind yourself up to max lvl within 5 days of playtime i think eaven cod has worse grinding.
In my case i grinded Stalingrad with the premium pass around 24 matches without it it would have been 120 lets say and for 120 battles you do not unlock a tier 10 ship in WOWS without premium and boosters.
it’s only bad if you compared to paid games like CoD or BF where the grinds are pretty short in comparison, however compared to most F2P games (oh which enlisted is) the grind is one of the best out there
I view it as a matter of perspective. If you were new player today, would you enjoy the grind in all campaigns against a bunch of max level competition? Most likely not. That leads to death of the game.
So, if you maxed out campaigns as other OG’s did (as they released) your perspective is worth damn near nothing as much as you may feel the opposite.
That is all. Of course, that’s my opinion only as someone who wants the game to thrive.
Just started to grind a new camign and yes i can exceel with bolt actions having no problems at all.so for me it seems fine altough you re correct on that one , The MM should consider lvls
In wot wows etc you re correct you dont fight in tier 1 ships against tier 10s but in every other free shooter you fight against veterans when you re a beginner.
and i mean no offense at all just this is my perspective
Basically, my assertion is that your opinion is valid but it’s not one that enough players share to make a game sustainable. Most people won’t spend hundreds of dollars or take level 3 weapons against level 39 weapons for more than a few days or weeks.
Some of us are gluttons for punishment but we are the same ones who wish that there were more players in game who weren’t bots. Something has to give.
the “grind” itself is not the problem, instead the real problem is that you need to focus on only one specific campaign to make progress, and finding a group of friends who do the same is nearly impossible.
I can’t find anyone IRL who wants to play this game other than me so… yeah… sort of the same issue you describe. I view it as a game that you must be able to have fun playing alone or there’s limited chance of overall success of the game. My opinion only.
Note that if I opted to play more mainstream shooters I have an army of people in my friends list. That said, my days of MOHAA, BF and COD pretty much ended way back when I had to pay to host my own server and set up map rotations, etc. Old school. Old fool.
Grind is a good thing.
Completing hardships along the way increase your dopamin and makes you happy both in real life and games.
Well but not souls-like grind, its a masochism
this is stupid argument honestly, just because there’s another game that has worse grind doesnt magically make enlisted grind good. it simply just “better” but still no good.
like losing 10$ or 20$, both sucks but losing 10$ is still better than 20$
The grind is not so bad, but… just for the campaign levels, it seems that people always forget that there is also grind for squad upgrades, so you can use what you just unlocked to its full potential or simply be able to upgrade weapons/vehicles and that is a different story.
40 days ago I’ve maxed out every single squad in the entire game, and that took me about 20 months of very active playing almost everyday (with few short breaks) using premium account, and both premium packs for Stalingrad and Pacific.
An average player that is F2P and wants to max every squad of just the current content would possibly do that in 2,5 - 3 years of active playing, and there is more to come, so overall the grind is bad if you want everything unlocked in the game. If only DF would cut by half XP required for squads upgrade levels it would be ok I think.
But Enlisted has many, MANY campaign lines to grind, 12 as of now, with more to come.
Is it doable? Certainly. But to do so requires A LOT of free time, which is something most ppl lack.
Many of my friends got put back by long grind because they have a life, work, and families to raise. Which is why for them, grind is indeed way too much.
Stalingrad is a positive outlier here for once since that 4x XP with full access shaves down a lot of time. I would pay money for a Enlisted full access pack wich gives all of the campaigns a permanent XP boost. Maybe a 3x one or raise the XP boost premium gives. Anyway I play barely anything but Stalingrad at this point since it doesn´t feel like I´m wasting my free time doing Work².
