I will not focus about the “realism factor” (even if I should since seeing a single man carrying an mg42 and an anti tank rifle all on his own isn’t really good), but I think that the possibility of carrying two main weapons partially kills the purpose of controlling several men in a squad, and it will give inexperienced players a huge disadvantage since if your enemy is a veteran and ran out of ammo can easily swap and take the secondary rifle. In my opinion the second main weapon is unnecessary (also because there is already the side arm and again, there is another thing it kills, the purpose of having a sidearm) and should be deleted.
I don’t think most people even use the secondary slot, personally I don’t. Not entirely sure how I’m feeling about it, but don’t think it’s a ginormous issue currently lol.
yes, of course it’s not a big issue. I just feel that it is useless and deleterious for this game’s realism and also for squad feature and the possibility of having a sidearm.
I’d rather have the backpack slot, personally.
For me it is worth it on soviet assaulters (always taking PPD AND shotgun with each), same will probably apply for US in Normandy, but those are probably only ones I will go for when it comes to secondary main weapon.
The only time i ever use the Secondary slot is if i have an SMG primary, since a rifle is more useful at long ranges, other than that i almost always use the backpack slot instead.
i put a toz there for my assault squad guys
however with weapon switch buffs you can rock lower teir SMG’s and switch instead of reload
This. I think my assaulters will end up being the only infantry I use the secondary slot on. It’s nice to have both an MP-34 and a Kar98.
It could be a balance issue though, I could see that. Because then there’s not much downside to assaulters, they can take a pretty good bolt action AND an SMG, there is no range disadvantage to using an assault squad.
I’m gonna have to try that
There is the move speed reduction for running weapons in both slots. So there is some downside.
Oh yeah, that is true isn’t it. I forgot, the flame guy is so bad because he’s stupid slow and gets shot on the way to any place useful.
Haven’t unlocked it yet, but the option to pickup another weapon to use when you run low on ammo is good
Nah is trash in my opinion, as I said it slowes down soldiers that are supposed to change position quickly such as the flametrooper and it also kills realism and the purpose of the sidearm pistol
Is it possible to remove the Flametrooper primary rifle in Squad setup and have him spawn in with flamethrower only? That would cut back on maneuverability penalty. I only ask since I’m at work and can’t try it myself.
I think its not at the moment, and that they should completely remove the secondary weapon slot
