Is Japanese bazooka (Type 5 launcher) even better than Type 97 AT rifle?

Feels like Type 97 has so much more range and ammo?

When you play against medium tanks, you will realize that type 5 will be useful. At the moment, the Stewarts are against you and there is not much point in replacing type 97.

Since we are going to have to deal with uptiers into Jumbos, do you happen to know which has more penetration, the Type 4 or Type 5? I can imagine the Type 5 having more post-pen, but that’s usually not much of a problem against Shermans either way.

Type 5 has 100mm pen but no sight.
Type 4 has 80mm pen but has a sight.

Personally I like the type 5 because of how wacky it is, but the type 97 is definitely more useful.

  1. Type 4
  2. Type 97
  3. Type 5

That’s how I rank them.

At the moment they’re pretty overkill for their current intended purpose as they have massive penetration power against the current US Pacific vehicle arsenal. On that note these will at least future proof a the Japanese’s AT capabilities when eventually (Years and years from now) the devs add heavier tanks like the Shermans to the Pacific campaign.

Type 5 is poor man’s panzerfaust but no sights while Type 4 is a smaller Ofenrohr

I think it’s all about personal preferences, since all of them can take out all enemy vehicles pretty easily.

And my preferences are exactly the same :point_up_2:

Besides the fact I mixed together Type 4 and 5 lol.
So my list is actually

  1. Type 5
  2. Type 97
  3. Type 4

But like you say, since all of them can take out all enemy vehicles pretty easily it’s all about personal preferences!
