Is it that hard to not call air strike?

is it really that hard to not call the air strike?
Is there like a invisible hand that force people to call air strike?
Do they not learn that every time they call air strike they get barely one or two kills?

Stupid people see many red dots bombs go boom boom they happy type shit

Some people think that since it’s 5 bombers there will be a lot more damage then how much that is actually caused

I remember that in the Pacific airstrikes would consistently kill 20+ people, even these days they still mange to make going into their radius a dangerous idea. I get they take up the cooldown time for artillery but it’s not like they’re useless.

calling air strike certainly helps your team lose faster if you were going to lose already lul

I think the bomber strike needs to be reworked.

It takes too long to deploy. A lot of the time, when the strike hits, the battle has already moved on. This also takes up too much time before anyone else can call in arty when it’s really needed.

And realistically, a squad of troops wouldn’t have a heavy bomber strike on call in a tactical battle. This leads me to this proposal:

Change the bombers to CAS. In doing so, reduce the amount of planes in the strike to one or two. This will allow the planes to come in faster and drop a more direct payload. This would reduce the overall time for the strike to take place, and therefore allow other players to use their arty strikes quicker. To compensate for the extra speed and more direct payload, the cooldown timer could be increased for that particular strike.

Thoughts?

bomber stike definitely needs a rework.

This sole purpose of air strike was, and is to give something to shot down for fighter aircraft.
Therefore, it should be reworks in such way it keeps the original purpose

Changing it to CAS is quite nice idea. It’s still aircraft but makes more sense (realistically strategic bombing didn’t bombed frontline)
And it’s be much faster. They can just copy paste AI from war thunder, since they already have ai dive bomber in some air maps.

I also thought of chaning it to recon aircraft call that keeps circling over the battlefield and pings enemy coordinate

Or replace bomber strike to something else but keep the bomber strike as map gimmick or ticket gimmick, like behemoth in bf1

how long is the cool down between bomber runs

Not sure off the top of my head, but I think it’s the same as normal arty strike. But of course we have to take the actual time for the bombers to arrive into account. So whether or not to increase the cooldown for CAS strikes is merely a suggestion. I feel that CAS strikes, being faster to deploy might become a bit too OP, or simply the only strike an arty squad will use.

I guess I’m trying to find a balance, tbh.

thats what i was afraid of, bombers are balanced by a long wind up and large area. making a CAS that kills harder than an arty strike faster than a bomber strike would be op. also reducing the number of craft would make it harder to shoot down not easier.

what about the area it covers such as a long thin vertical horizontal or diagonal or even a v. one chosen and set before the battle that leaves a lot of area clear. a large circular target makes sense for high altitude bombers less for a precision strike.

Skill issue - the progress of the battle needs to be anticipated - the worst is when a “friendly” strike is called on a point you’re about 10 seconds from capturing!!

But gives people like me a chance to score a few thousand points by shooting them down!! :stuck_out_tongue:

lol - you are bringing “realistically” into a debate about Enlisted??

New here are you?? (yes I can see your moderator tag!)

cuts out opportunity for us air try-hards to rack up massive scores - so no thanks

I see very few airstrikes these days, unfortunately… the problem is generally limited to the occasional game where presumably some keen soul has just upgraded to them and gets to call in 2 or 3 during a game.

IMO there probably is something that might be done to improve them in some fashion, but it is well down the list of things that need fixing.

you are proposing to do me too… and I hate to share :stuck_out_tongue:

Weird comeback, but sure fella. Whatever you say.

If you like air so much, you know there’s game called “war thunder”

you will learn to thank them.

Once you have done your fare share of events (and winning means nothing to you during events, just the score tally), you will really appreciate how many people call this in…This is one of the most chill ways to finish event grinds in 2-3 games

keep doing it people!

This is your average enlisted player for you

More red zone = better

I’m pretty certain that most airstrikes are called by bots. At least relatively recently, they call it often in customs (so no doubt). I tested it when I thought I noticed an increase in airstrikes.

The first call was enough for me to understand that this is a piece of shit. Huge red circles appear on the map and no one gives a shit about this fact. And at the last moment, everyone just goes to cover for 10 seconds, comes out and continues the fight. Not to mention that the enemy can camouflage their artillery in your call for air power. This was before I learned that calling for air power prevents you from calling for artillery.

It’s the developers’ fault, they should either remove them or give them the impact they should have…

There are 5 planes that take 4 business days to arrive and when they arrive (if they do and are not blown up in the air) they do absolutely nothing, meanwhile disabling the team from calling for artillery for about 2-3 minutes.
