in my scenario, i have this handsome pilot, which is wearing a tanker uniform, but i’m not particulary mad, ( cuz he is thicc ).
as such, i would like to keep him but, i need to progress with the ohers pilots.
unfortunately, they all wear the pilot cap.
and since i don’t wanna lose him, is it possible to " store him somewhere " without losing they way he look?

You’ll most probably lose that outfit, but don’t worry, you can get it back. Just keep switching the soldier in your image with another one, back and forth, until you get the outfit you want (it’s random, so you might have some “switching” to do).
i do that for people when they have caps and i don’t like them, so i switch back and fourth to actually make them wear helmets.
although, i’m afraid i’ll lose this one, because he is using a tanker uniform for the pilots.
and as far as i can see with other pilots, the all look the same. and the " no helmet " it’s not an option 
You can, but you must upgrade the squad tab first so you can put the other pilot in the squad.
You can level the other pilot by playing with him and this one will stay the same but will never leave the squad.
thats one good looking pilot for sure.
but as far as i can tell you keep the face , only changes will apear on outfit /helmets /caps. and even that ones can be swapable by changing soldiers over and over untill you get the outfit you want.
This made me remember Petrov,he lost his helmet for a whole minute.

But yeah, the system has changed - in Academy, u used to get the first guy you put in, as return. NOW, it is random, out of 3 guys you sent - it will be random guy. I lost a bunch of badass dudes, because I didn’t know lol
The only way is to use “choose soldier in Academy” order, to pick ur guy. Seems like?

i used to have this pilot in 5 updates ago, and somehow he suddendly dressed up as a tanker.
and since than, he still wear tanker uniform.

how does this work? I keep losing the epic stahlhelm and getting it replaced by hats. I do not know how to change it back
it’s simple.
basically, you press the soldier managing, drag the soldier with the hat Out from the squad, click ok ( but you need some soldiers in your reserve to do so otherwise the game forces you to have a limited ammount ) and after that you dragged the persons with the hats outside of your squad, and clicked ok, go again in the Managing Soldier tab, and put those soldiers inside your squad.
this process might takes you a few try, but it still works. and it will allow you to change hats with helmets.
so you keep dragging them out, press ok, until he has an helmet.

( ps. keep in mind that you might have to do it more times as sometimes it works, others not. but in a few trys you should get your helmet )
