Is it just me, or are flamethrowers very overpowered?

16 seconds of continuous fire is an awful lot.

It’s way less in game.

Emmm are you sure you can kill them at first time?

Objectively speaking it’s OP.

I actually just tested it out in-game with the m1a1 flamethrower, and it turns out that one is accurate. I clocked 15.47 seconds of sustained fire. It’s a lot longer than it sounds.

Nah, they’re just as good IRL.

The only thing that I hate about them is that they kill you through walls and floors

Honestly I think my biggest issue is that in-game they treat them like they’re lighter than the are IRL. They should be 70-80 lbs, realistically speaking, not the 20 or so it says in game. I think that restricting the ability to sprint, similar to AT weapons, would go a long way. They’re very heavy weapons.

I’d have no problem with that. From the few videos I know of where men are lugging a flamethrower in active combat zones during either world war, they are clearly struggling to close the distance quickly

in my experience flamethrowers are not OP. They can get massive kills. This is true. Close quarters, rooms, folks grouping up. They have their place and they have their power. That being said they are very limited on range and easy to spot by their tanks on the back. You can focus them down pretty easy from range and at point blank even while on fire I have killed many a flametrooper just shooting at the origin point of the flame.
All in all… I mean sometimes you get big kills. It happens.
