is the gold order IS2 worth to skip grind? or should I grind for 1944 version from tech tree?

depend on where you are i guess? im way off from is2 1944 so i bought it (im like 5 tank away from it)
it can be sort of helpful, so you’ll have a slighlty better performant vehicle than otherwise you would start with. would save you some point as well that would go in the upgrades towards the 1944 preemptively.
but, the is 2 is challenging to use compared to many other tanks ( especially on the tigers which you’ll be facing alot. rule of thumb, aim for the cupola or turret’s cheeks. ).
it has a long reload, and you still need to aim for weak spots.
however, it’s gun can be great at distance and if angled but the shells are trolly. can occasionally bounce shots too.
p.s.
you will still need to buy the base is 2 if you don’t have it. otherewise you wont be able to buy the 1944 ( just like any other vehicle )
it’s somewhat of a short term investment which you can use on the long run, but it really depends if you plan to use it or just ditch it as soon as you get the 1944.

meaning that sticks out like a sore thumb in berlin, and autumn stalingrad maps.
which it’s what i have been playing for the most part.
maybe different rotations in other areas, but… dunno. something worth considering.
Yeah I did use the GO IS–2 before I got the IS-2 1944, it does its job just fine.
Its worth buying IMO, unless you are less than 250.000 xp from it.
Thanks for the info, I encountered many IS series sometimes they 1 shoot me, sometimes their shells bounces, and since I have never used any IS series I didn’t know exactly how its performance works but if it bounces %50 time, then its not worth it for me
Well, I have every tech tree tank till T34-85D, I thought I can use IS2 with that squad and I can stop grinding tank line for a while, but from what I understand, this tank makes you wait 2-3 week for reloads and its shoots not working everytime
My recommendations are as a person who upgraded all Soviet to the maximum and has almost all the presets. at a high combat rating, two tanks are effective for me - the t34-100 (it is an event tank) and the KV-2 from techno tree. Choosing between the is2 or is21944, I would rather stop at the IS-1, it at least kills infantry quickly, the recharge is about 8 seconds (correct if I’m wrong). You will swear when is-2 shots are fired at an APC or PZ2c, you will not kill it and you will have to recharge for a long time. My comrades use KV-2 mainly as a donation or from the technological tree.
it has 21 sec long reload which you can speed up with perks which should be standard with any tank anyway as its really helpful.
If you have T-34-100 than dont bother but if you dont than you can use IS-2 to hunt Tigers.

I thought he has T-34 85 dt5 from Berlin campaign but I guess he joined later.
I still expect people to own old legacy squads like that for some reason.
Thats what makes me doubt about this tank, but if t34-100 works great for both obj then Im oky with it

Soviet tanks (at least those that are in the technological tree suck) - but choosing between the kv2 and t34-100, I stopped at the latter because it takes a little longer to recharge with perks than 85 and 88 guns. And you can at least become a nightmare for the infantry. You don’t have to choose.

Yes. Don’t worry, I did the same. Make sure you have the 126th regiment, though.
The Gold order versiĂłn have a cammo that is usefull in rezhev and Stalingrad maps (specially the tractor plant) but extremely stupid on Berlin and the Urban maps of Stalingrad if You want to use them in a better context You can move to customs lonefigthers where in moskow maps where they shine even more and lets dont talk about bulge maps and the most recient one
Besides that is like any other GO vehicle (full upgrated) and if You wonder skip part of the grind Buy it : )
