But I don’t feel a sense of accomplishment because I keep getting the same level of vehicles.

The Stalinium IS2 will eventually come in Berlin… and that beast has a 120something gun. Be patient 
T-34, T34-85 and IS1 Look similar also, apart from the 85 mm gun
Compare it To Axis side Panzer IV J , Panther G , Tiger E which look stunning different from each other.
Yes, will be two versions of IS 2 and two versions of Tiger 2.
This is why German tanks in Berlin are more playable, they are diverse.
Fun fact, by the time they where in production, the King tigers had such bad quality metal plates, that they tended to shatter when a shell large enough impacted them , so if an IS-2 got a direct hit to a KT from the front, it might kill the crew inside without penetrating the plate, because of all the spalling fragments flying around on impact

Btw, in this video around 9:34 mark starts the answers why all Soviet tanks around 1942-1945 looked pretty much the same. 85mm was just a standart and that’s it. Game is just being historically correct with vehicles and equipment. Personally, that’s why i always preferred playing Axis, for me their weapons & vehicles are simply more interesting, except Tunisia and maybe Moscow campaign too.

However, the 85mm tank gun is not the standard armament for Soviet heavy tanks.
Of course there was 120mm heavy tanks but that’s more of a powercreep variant in a game, then Axis will also ask for a tank with bigger gun. Honestly, isn’t IS-1 and Tiger equal in chances taking each other out? Maybe IS-1 is bit worse for infantry killing because it has no 2nd MG but that’s all.

I think this is a very unfortunate part.
Guys I think KV-2 would be perfect for Berlin.
