the thing i am referring to occurs whenever attackers refuse to attack for some reason, from a new player’s view this is really boring situation both for attackers and deffenders, especially for an advanced players.
I know current state is nothing new and people been insulting those people since I’m here. Despite obvious causion by skill issues and overall team discoordination, i belive this could be still adressed somehow. For now it could be even some simple solutions like tweaking the tickets so if attackers drops to half the tickets and they haven’t even begin to cap the first point (as it happens) make them drain twice as fast, but eventually i’d rather more fine solutions such as new tools for better coordination in-game. whatever but just shorten the time of suffering from this boring gameplay already please. This is where most of the players deserts. and it’s not just invasion either.
maps need to be bigger, there needs to be more engagement range, and places to engage from this would also deal with “grey zone camping”
while I agree, there’s still has to be new tools for coordination management. Especially if engagement range and maps would get bigger. The ones we have currently are without any audio, without any graphics, map or HUD icons, and are easy to miss. This community will never use in-game voice chat and actually I like that, but there’s has to be alternative source of communication, otherwise this game isn’t even close of being ‘tactical’.
I’ve noticed recently a lot of the time its actually AI hanging back. I think its a bug…
oh yeaaaa, i’ve nearly forgot these are actually majority of the match lobbies
I think players should not be able to stay in the gray area indefinitely, they are only allowed to stay in the gray area for a short period of time after they respawn.
how would that work? like an cloud from some battle royale game? i think it can be handled in a more simple, yet not spoiling the immersion way, some on-screen message, some battle cries, some coordination tools, some in-game voice audio idk there’s planty of them
I too have thought about this, and in many cases I agree. However, there are three counterpoints that I have:
- It doesn’t show that team what counts as “their greyzone” the area that the enemy cannot enter. It would need to show what area they are NOT allowed to be in, before it randomly says they are dying now because they stayed too long.
- There are a few maps (like Gorge on Tunisia) that one side has access to a great ranged/ support location, that I am fairly sure are in what would be greyzone for the enemy (or at least the enemy never tries to come after me there), but because of the terrain it can only be utilized by snipers and field guns from engineer squads. Its still quite easy to kill both as the area is rather exposed, just a good distance away. Without utilizing these locations this way, I see a MUCH lower success rate across the board… So I can’t really say that removing that option is a good idea.
- What happens if the enemy team sets up a spawn camp, and you are trying to fight it? You get forced out directly into their fire? There needs to be a system that protects against spawn camping if you wish for greyzone camping to get fixed.
Bonus point: the explosive pack spam needs to be dealt with in some way to make tanks able to push forward without immediately getting grenaded.
i wish it was, as i started playing I’ve been coming close to the obj and then I realized it’s not worth to, and it really sucks bcs whenever i see tank pushing i immediately hop behind it to take cover and push along too. So it has strong potential.
There could be also a command for our team to stick close to the tank, but i guess this is too much to ask for now
i know something that would make invasion/defence’s boring experience a little less boring; narrator’s voicelines. as everyone knows already they’re all the same, i think they should be changed in order to fit the situation within the game, they would be something like this:
(the first quote should trigger as soon as the player enters the battle for the first time)
axis berlin attacking voiceline: ‘‘today we shall beat back the enemy from whatever hole they crawled out of, victory will be ours’’
axis berlin defending voiceline: ‘‘the enemy is preparing to launch a full on assault on our positions, we must hold them back at all costs’’
axis berlin attacking victory voiceline: ‘‘the enemy couldn’t withstand the pressure of our forces, victory’’
axis berlin attacking defeat voiceline: ‘‘we didn’t overcome the wretched enemy’s forces, the attack failed’’
axis berlin defending victory voiceline: ‘‘the enemy could not break through our defences, victory is ours’’
axis berlin defending defeat voiceline: ‘‘the defences failed, retreat to a new position!’’
allies berlin attacking voiceline: ‘‘the cursed enemies are within the vicinity of this area, today they will fall’’
allies berlin defending voiceline: ‘‘we have reports of an enemy planning a attack on our positions, today we shall hold the line!’’
allies berlin attacking victory voiceline: ‘‘the enemy has been beaten back, we won’’
allies berlin attacking defeat voiceline: ‘‘they fought like gangsters!, retreat!’’
allies berlin defending victory voiceline: ‘‘enemies have fallen like cowards, victory is ours’’
allies berlin defending defeat voiceline: ‘‘the wretched scum have beaten us back! retreat!’’
actually I was thinking the same, in addition, there’s could be more voice over lines in other languages than just english too, not everyone speaks english and devs have to keep that in mind.
i agree on that, they need more variations, because hearing the soldier just say ‘‘die you rat’’ amd other similar quotes just feels bland and repetitive, they really should include more swearing to fit the stress of the combat situation, stuff like;
kill quote 1: ‘‘filthy son of a bitch’’
kill quote 2: ‘‘fuck off already’’
kill quote 3: ‘‘goodbye’’
kill quote 4: ‘‘good night’’
kill quote 5: ‘‘oh you shouldn’t have enlisted’’
or even downed quotes:
downed quote 1: ‘‘fuuuck youuu’’
downed quote 2: ‘‘that piece of shit got me’’
downed quote 3: ‘‘holy shit i’ve been shot’’
downed quote 4: ‘‘you pieces of shit will pay’’
downed quote 5: ‘‘fuck, fuck, i’m shot’’
they really need to implement the system where a soldier based off of random timing proceeds to say ‘‘man down’’ during the combat
i was thinking more about narrator’s voice to tell moreless what’s happening in the battle and what you should do to help coordinate. but sure
one small touch-up, we need that 1930’s-1940’s typewriter noise that writes out ‘‘objective: capture the control point’’
