Invasion game mode Defensive spawn points are too far away

on literally every campaign, (Berlin, Normandy, Moscow) if you’re on the defense and the enemy team gets enough momentum to take a point and spawn their entire team in and push, you will lose 99% of the time due to having to cover way too much ground to get back to the defense zone. Oh and just to cover this ahead of time because I know some of you are elitist cunts with your “get gud” bs, eat a bag of dicks and take your toxic bs somewhere else. This is a legit balance issue. Defenders should be spawning closer to the zone they have to defend. If you’re attacking, it’s not supposed to be easy. If it’s easy, it’s probably an ambush.

This. If everyone dies on their first squad as defender then they basically lose the entire match. The spawn balancing in this game is super jank.

I have legitimately only seen the Germans win a handful of matches on Berlin. The spawns are too far away, and the Russians on top of you so quickly, that point after point fall in rapid succession.

Defenders can spawn on top of the objective itself for a short while after it gets capped.

That said, most people don’t know how to defend and get roflstomped as a result regardless.

On some maps, it’s just too easy for the attackers to gain momentum, without really having to worry about casualties. Defenders should spawn in close proximity to the objectives, and attackers much further away. The latter should win by out fighting the enemy, not by out spawning them.

The opposite can be said in the exact same manner - defenders should try actually defending the objective. Very few people actually do.

All of my teams have defended fiercely, but if you die then the point is basically lost, because by the time you have run back the enemy have capped it. The attackers have no such issue.

The Russian steamroll on Berlin often results in matches less than ten minutes long!

The attackers have the exact same issue with having to run from their spawn point. As long as your team doesn’t get wiped, the losses will be replaced by people who run back as defenders.

Very few people play Germany in Berlin as it doesn’t offer any real new guns over other the other campaigns and there is more to unlock in the other campaigns.

Ever heard of a class called engineer?

Ah yes, ignoring a legitimate issue in favor of “git gud”

Classic willful ignorance.

Considering it’s an F2P game, which draw in the lowest IQ’s and have tons of “pick up, play once, put down” players who are never going to unlock engineer or play the game properly, it’s probably a better idea to make the spawns closer and centralized. Then Engineers can focus on making flanking spawns instead of just making the game playable.

Unfortunately, some folks just want to steamroll, and care little for actual balance between the two sides. We all know which faction they main, and why.

It’s not my issue that 99% of players can’t simply build a rally point near the capture point. Unlocking the engineer takes less than 2 hours of gameplay. I am not interesting in handholding and/or catering to the people whose IQ can be counted on one hand.

Improve the tutorial to include an engineer section - sure. But there is no need to change the current spawns. If the defenders spawned closer, there would be no way to win for the attackers if both sides are at least somewhat competent.

Wut?
I troll the Germans in Moscow by building a rallye in the trench line close to the first point (the Invasion map with the trenches and the whole village).
Nce alternative spawn and a trench directly connected to A. If like one more guy would be smart enough to build another one I would have it way easier.
And before the nerf defenders were able to build in not unlocked points… even more mean for the Germans if the defenders keep spawning from the upper level of the last point/ house.
My point is that both teams are to some extend forced to build spawns unless they are ready to waste essential time and ressources. The spawns are fine…
JUST USE YOUR ENGINEER. You dont even need a engineer squad for that.
At least that were my experiences in Moscow.

Ever heard of eat a bag of dicks? What good is an engi and a rally if the attack force steam rolls and your rally is stuck outside the map as the spawns reset? Yeah, I run engi probably more than anything else and it doesn’t make enough of a difference if they get the momentum up.the enemy can get in and cap before you can get a rally up and get more defenders on the point. Especially true in Berlin campaign.

Well. If the attackers managed to steamroll you in the first minute… then your team should be rather full with bots as explanation.

During last open berlin test I spawned as a defender on the cap point and I got instantly killed by the attacker. So yes, there is an issue, at least on some maps.

It’s fine, when people stop playing German on Berlin, then they will have to do something about it. The developers will have the metrics, and I suspect the metrics will show a certain side steamrolling nine out of ten times. :smirk:

In 70% of times plane bombs or artillery spam destroy rally points i build, it’s so frustrating
