Today we take a look on the riot-shield sqaud wich allready existed in WW1:
→ 6 Shieldcarrier + 1 Radioman or 1 Engineer
→ Mainweapon is a riot shield that protect from any bullets except anti-tank guns, soldier is
→ No Secondary weapon but increased body armour
→ Special melee wepaon beating stick, can carry pistol, and can use both while shielding
→ Maybe adding special charge with the shield (running + shielding at once)
the trouble is in game armor only reduces but does not stop damage, on infantry at least
if it could stop damage you would have a Battlefield situation of tanking bazookas
not from a pick 8-15mm or 1/3 to 2/3 of an inch
not in that picture it looks more like 1-2 mm
what if the center of the shield is like 10mm to the edge at 2mm
otherwise if you have an entire shield at 8-15mm it would weigh tens to hundreds of pounds
fancy idea, though if realistic these shields would stop pistol & smg bullets, but rifles & MGs would penetrate them easily at 10 m and for most also at 100 m. these soldiers would therefore only work out as a premium/event squad at low/mid BRs as anything on high BRs would shred them easily.
Shield carrier squad since they have engineer, they should be able of make a special sheild storage zone where your own team can equip same or lesser version of the shield. Once you die, you need to go to that zone again. Maximum is 200 members can use it repeatedly
You literally gave photos of the Polish POLICE with weapons and uniforms from surplus (that’s why stahlhelms with a white eagle). While riot shields were used during riot control and swating, they were never used in regular warfare, despite the fact that the police fought on the front line, whether in the Polish-Soviet War or during the September Campaign. So why do you need an equipment that has historically never been used in the conditions presented by the game? Especially since the game skips the early stage of the war completely. Go play bf1.
