Honestly collision between soldiers with friendlies especially just needs to be turned off. The AI and teammates constantly bump and push you about to the point it’s genuinely a detriment to go inside or take cover near people. Please just switch it off and the game will be all the better for it.
Really silly that they haven’t implemented something like this. It could even be changed so that the active player model cannot be pushed around by AI, while the player can push the AI away.
In RO2, friendlies bots do not have collision, but humans do. So, less annoying but still kept some realism.
In Verdun/Tannenberg, you can push bots, but they can’t push you.
But I doubt devs would let us know who is bot.
Very annoying, I was behind a wooden pile and one of my bot members bumped into me and suddenly I go up in the air. I also see bots doing that when bumping into any object, needs to be worked on.
Especially since you become vulnerable once you get bumped into the open.
That is a good solution.
Yeah the only permanent solution to this is to disable player collisions, and allow bullets to go through people. If I get blown up again using a Panzerfaust or a Bazooka because a friendly bot player walks in front of me, I’m gonna lose it. It not realistic to disable player collision but it would make gameplay a little bit more bearable.
Could definitely work, but such a priority system is probably too difficult to implement I’m afraid so I doubt the devs will add it.
Player=true AI=pushed
Doesn’t quite work like that.
This shit is very low-level engine stuff so it would require Gaijin to change things, not Darkflow.
When moving 2 physics bodies, if they intersect, the game calculates a overlap vector that determines how deep both bodies are intersecting. It then calculates the fastest way to push them apart, which is pushing them both opposite directions of each other, then pushes them. The only way to change this is by making one body static, but that would result in them being unmovable, as static is used to build static lighting, which means encoding shadows into the textures of the level. This results in the body being entirely unmovable, aka unusable for the player.
I believe it was a simple joke that went way over your head.
May be
might have something to do with Gaijin removing tank AI from ground battles.
I remember someone showcasing a glitch where if they rammed a bot tank in a certain way, it would slingshot the bot across the map.
that’s a new change actually, I wasn’t there to see that update.
Bots in ground battles were removed years ago, probably before British tanks were added.
The way they worked was that they would always move down a set path, usually stopping whenever they aggro.
Problem was, once they gained aggro they never lost it, so they would track and continue shooting at you even if you put a hill between yourself and them.
It didn’t matter much because they had such weak guns they couldn’t pen anything; can’t remember if they were just low tier, or if their guns actually did less damage. Someone claimed they shot HE at you.
