I think we are starting to get a little bit into clown show territory when game balance arguments get to the point where the exactly same weapon should behave differently depending on whether it sits on a vehicle cupola or as a ground emplacement gun.
I guess we can just tune the US 75mm to frontally pen King Tigers as well because, well balance right?
well should vehicle mg34/42 have same characteristics as infantry mg34/42? with no overheating and OHK damage? you will basically get people in tanks that have 300 kills, while every infantry player gets 20 kills if lucky with 20 deathsâŚ
Also this doesnât happen now when they launch a crapton of HE shells at everyone. Why would making the pintle and cupola guns consistent change that?
nah it doesnt. HE shells are nerfed already and reason why people get loads of kills is cause they use MG also.
cause it is not only cupola guns, it is also plane guns and setting precedent about making vehicle MG equal to infantry MG, effectively buffing all vehicle MG.
If they canât even do the most basic thinking
Then itâs better to replace them all with AI
At least the AI ââknows how to get to the capture point
if you people had your way you would end up breaking this game because you donât know the consequences of what youâre asking for And if I were to go into more detail the moderators might hit me in the head again
cause this is not separate suggestion. if you increase m2 damage, then you need to increase all 12.7mm damage regardless if it is infantry or plane.
if you normalize 12.7mm in all vehicles, then you also need to normalize 7.92mm, 7.62mm, 7.7mm MG for all vehicles.
are you certain? cause i will be happy when p47 gets buff to its damage so every MG has power of 30mm cannon. cause we cant have same gun be different in planes and tanksâŚ
so please tell me how normalizing m2 will be ok for tanks and planes? unless you want them to have different damages? cause that is main argument for normalizing infantry and tank m2.
I have 0 issue with increasing the infantry lethality of plane m2s. They should, within reason inside the damage drop-off parameters also OHK when strafing. This is already the case for 20mm+ and the amount of times you get strafed by plane cannons is almost never, so the pearl clutching about fundamental balance issues coming from this is nonsense.
But please in the meanwhile tell me what happened to your âlol we can do whateverâ-perspective? Because we can just handwave this concern away by implementing the changes to land vehicles.
it is not just infantry lethality that will be increased. it will increase lethality of all planes with 12.7mm against other planes making fighters pretty much useless with its 20mm or 30mm.
where did i say that exactly? maybe you want to quote me again for case by case basis for game balance cause that is not âwe can do whateverâ. vehicles and bombs are nerfed for a reason. that reason been this is not WT with infantry targets.
so somehow it is ok to have land vehicles deal same damage as stationary HMG, but not planes? why special exemption for the land vehicles?
if you want to balance m2 for vehicles then decrease overheating, or slightly increase damage, not give it 100 damage per bullet.
Just because something else gets brought up to actual performance doesnât mean that something else becomes useless. 20mm and 30mm should still have significant edge in shooting down heavier aircraft. Hell, it might even give a reason not to have the bomber planes not be made of glass.
In the end it might as well be that, because weâll just do whatever you think is balanced. Like your random demands that MG34 tank versions should also OHK, because reasons.
Like I said, Iâm fine with increasing the lethality across the board, IDC. Youâre the one who is generally whining about the proposals to increase the damage.
Feel free to make that proposal. Mine is very simple in the end. Make vehicle M2s hit as hard as the engineer built ones, and feel free to leave everything else as is âfor balance reasonsâ. Iâm OK if this is only on ground vehicles (as this is where the original observation comes from), but if I need to somehow be morally consistent and pure for the argument to fly with you then fuck it, planes too.
