Increase Assaulters

The amount of Assaulters in Assault squads should be increased. The Assault squad’s cousins Medic and Guerilla have 5 soldiers. It could be increased between 5-7, but one thing is sure it should at least be 5 to keep it on par with its cousins. I know some would say just add a Medic to the squad but it’s about integrity, it should be more Assaulters. Premium and event Assault squads would need to be updated as well

This is a very simple and easy addition

Assault squads represent shock infantry such as the Soviet submachine gun platoons or German Volksgrenadiers with entire squads armed with automatic weapons that would assault enemy positions with high volumes of fire

First of all, for each faction you have at least one assaulter squad that has an added medic specialist that you could choose. So, if using that squad, you have five.

Furthermore, medics and Guerilla’s both only have five soldiers. Having five with a submachine gun on low BR is quite handy, but with only one extra machinegun does not compensate for two extra soldiers.
(one extra submachine gun < two extra soldiers).

Medics and guerilla’s are also unique in the sence that they dont have any specialist. Meaning they cant have any engineers or AT soldiers which really effects their versitabilty. Worse, you cant make spawn points, which is a masive nerf.

But all this does not even matter because you are clearly forgetting that the assault squads have the ability to add an extra LMG soldier. Meaning you have an extra soldier with an automatic weapon in your squad.

this point is also completely void when considering high-BR where everyone has acces to automatic weapons.

So, no, this is not needed at all.

Technically speaking, they could just as well remove the assaulter class and give SMGs to troopers… or instead move selectfire rifles and assault rifles to the assaulter class …

Besides Riflemen the other classes for Assault squads are 2 Engineers, 2 Radio, 1 AT, 1 Medic, 1 Sniper, 1 MG.

In my opinion they don’t need to have 2 of Engineers and Radios. I feel each squad type should maximize its intended role

So how about remove 1 Engineer and 1 Radio and add an Assaulter instead. Or replace just one of those slots with an Assaulter if more than 5 in a squad seems “OP”. One would have to choose whether they want to add another Assaulter to their squad or a different class

That way everyone can still customize their squad however they want. Maybe I have 5 Assaulters, and someone else can have 3 Assaulters, 1 Radio, 1 MG, 1 Sniper, and 1 Engineer

Premium/ event Assault squads would still have their Assaulters increased based on how many Assaulters in base squads since special squads aren’t customizable (but I think they should)

If 4 are annoying i can’t imagine 5 :skull::skull::skull:

I understand your point, BUT:

  • Assaulters squads are ALREADY meta, since the very beginning of the game, even with 4 (or 5 with medics) smg guys.

I just don’t see the need to make them even more potent. Only in br5 do they get rivaled (but not beaten) by SF rifle squads…

As for those platoons of smg only soldiers for sovs or axis… let’s not forget the much more numerous bolt action riflemen platoons that were present with them…

I feel some would change their tune if Medics couldn’t use smgs. I’ve always felt they should remove smgs from Medics and not have them as discount Assaulters

Before medics, ppl merely did what many still do today: add an lmg guy with your 4 assaulters… it’s still 5 full auto :thinking:

I just don’t think it’s necessary. In fact, I believe making meta EVEN MORE meta, could be detrimental to the game.

They can always remove a radioman and/or an engineer and replace the option with a Medic in every assaulter tech tree squad, which would give the player the option of having basically 5 assaulters. Personally, I would like this, five assaulters, one engineer and one radioman or one machine gunner in a seven man squad. If I’m not mistaken, only one tech tree assaulter squad comes with the medic option, which I would change so that all have that option. At level five the number of assaulters is pretty much moot since every soldier is basically fully auto, but it would make more difference at the mid and lower levels. Out of the US, Germany and USSR I only use ONE (German) tech tree assaulter squad at level five, every other faction is mid or lower level.

Hmm, The radioman is always dead before I can use him anyway, so just replace him with another assaulter which would give me six… :rofl:

Assaulters are fine.

What needs to change is the Rider class.

Love for the rider class is indeed needed, I would love if the bike would count as a APC spawn for BR1.

True but it’s a little bit more dynamic. Riflemen have autorifles which have poor recoil while Assault smgs have better close range recoil control so in theory the Assault performs better in close quarters

On a separate note I’ve been thinking about the historic role of automatic rifles and have been thinking maybe maybe auto rifles should be moved to a different class. In a way this would shake up and even rebalance the meta of the game.
