I think AA gun needs resupplying a bit too often. So adding one extra reserve magazine would be nice.

AAs are definitely not so OP to justify only three 20 rnds mags with bonus overheat and restrictred angles.

They mission for them : Killing enemy planes Before the hvar’s spam (or other rockets/ heavy bombs).
And at the end off the game, they are on the top players, little ratio KD, but a lot off véhicules kills… And a big score.

I’ve try it, but it’s so hard to find the good place, wait thé plane, support team with AT canon, wait thé plane, call radio, wait thé plane… And kill thé plane (good aiming, fire at the better moment, etc).

Maybe your teammate’s tank will not pay attention to AA at all, or the position of AA cannot be supported by them. Your sniper may have been killed by the enemy long ago. Imo AA is fine on low BR. But I guess it could be changed to a better one on high BR when/if we get engineer buildings dependant on BR.
@紫電改_N1K2-J Well your teammates are constantly being spawned in some with sniper squads or tank squads waiting to replace any tanka or snipers lost…and don’t forget about artillery almost everyone has a radio squad member in their squads to call in artillery on AA position. When AA could still aim down i always end up killed by artillery or tank shot, i didn’t last more then 3-4 mins on the AA gun to suppress enemy.

I think the problem is the lack of a tier system for these buildables;
in essence they ended up being used in the same way heavy Machineguns or MG’s are supposed to be used and that was distorting the balance too much;
the lack of buildables having a clear “difference by tier”, and the availbility of buildables provided doesn’t help this much;
it ties into how Machineguns are used/balanced and how machinegun squads “work”;
to make a long post short I’d have AA work as follows:
- Tier 1-2: Rifle Caliber Machinegun; can be set up in AA or Anti Infantry positions; but you have to pick one, and stick with it; AA has a higher angle and no sandbags so you can track the target.
- Tier 3: Idk Maybe HMG’s maybe Dual or single mount 15-25mm cannons.
- Tier 4-5: quadmount cannons, etc.;
perhaps call-ins for fighter sweeps that radiomen can use, with AI that is “hard mode”, not sure if DF is capable of doing that in a way that is “fun” though.
In a direct "plane vs AA gun fight, the plane usually wins, especially when it has rockets that have enough range.
AA guns need to be hard counters, which should force planes to fly low or do fast sweeps instead of them flying in a straight line towards their target.

Personally I’d give AA more range (both effective range of bullets and target indicator appearing further). So if you are a good pilot, you will manage to doge AA anyway but if you are a stupid and fly in a straight line, you will get shot to pieces.
They should split it either:
A- Between the engineer squads with the Engi I being able to build the one we have now and Engi IIs the 4-barreled one
B- depending on the BRs with BRs 1-3 being able to build the
single-barrel one and BR 3-5 to build the Flakvierling
When I play LF on customs I just build aa guns and a at and just chill there for the rest of the match.
It’s rare a plane that survives.
