where is your conscience
just using more engineer and rush to front line, It would more helpful for team and you can get more exp
sniping is least helpful in team than you think
cant agree that its least helpful. An good sniper can spot things you dont have time to do and also cover you when you cant advance. So saying support teams are not helpful is just assault ppl talk which dont understand that an team is important as an whole. Sure a lot of support squads will not do good if they arent playing the obj but ive seen Assault troopers camp outside while snipers actually had to protect the point from the inside or cap it since others wont You might not realize that those snipers have taken out or spotted some serious threats that makes you not advancing
no,that supporting role can replaced by radio man, mortar, mg & vehicles, furthermore that roles are more helpful for team than sniper, also skillful rifleman with bolt action can replace sniper too
your example is just lack of other suppoting role in that situation
Then we have to agree to disagree or you havent got an good sniper in your team
If you want to get rid of kill cam,
other side should be adjusted.
Sniping should be much more harder than before. You must hold breath to aim accurately, rof also should be lower.
Ok, so let’s take the Normandy beach map for example on Axis side. I’m the guy that finds a position 200-250m away from the first cap zone (the first bunker) overlooking the entire beach, and starts spotting for tanks and troops rushing that bunker.
While i’m at it, i take out the AA gunners on the beach that won’t let the pilots bomb the tanks, i take out any MG troops and flamethrowers trying to reach the bunker and wipe out anyone inside. I take out the radio guys so that they can’t call arty stikes on my team, and take out enemy snipers that make my team keep their heads down.
How is that not helping win a battle?
Also, 250m away from the cap zone means that i have to shoot enemy troops at 300-350m away. At those distances, a running target shot is difficult, the lead on the target is great and there’s the bullet drop that comes into place, not to mention that the target might move and you miss the shot. Also at those distances, you can’t even see the target right behind the scopes reticle due to it’s thickness. So i tend to mark regular infantry for my team to care care of and i focus on HVTs.
If the match is won with the allies failing to capture even the first cap zone, I get maybe 20-30 kills. And while i’m working my ass off protecting the troops that defend the objective, i only get XP for 20-30 kills, even tho those targets could wipe out my team defending the bunker 20-30 times.
I told you that role can replaced by other role and others are more effective and useful for team
So… you basicaly proved my point, because, as i said, that’s what i usually shoot at: radio operators, mortars, mg gunners etc. And by your definition they are far more important and effective ingame than infantry. So tell me again… why shouldn’t snipers get more xp points for taking such squads out from the enemy team?
because sniper is basically same as rifleman except scoped gun
and you keep assert that sniper has there own role, but be honestly, that’s not sniper’s own role, rather sniper makes game to loose and make team to less flexible(camping, empty
defense sector etc. ), so that’s not good for team to make advantage for sniper to recommend sniper to users
take it slow, don’t waste tickets, bleed the opponent dry. German Translation sounds much better
Right, so shooting that enginer that snuck past the defences and was making a spawn point behind the objective so that enemy troops could flank the cap zone that my team was defending was a waste of time.
Like Srg_Steiner said, let’s agree to disagree.
One more thing, when i play it’s usually in a team of 4 (myself, my wife and 2 friends). We always comunicate during the battle, marking enemy troops and tanks is top priority because chances are that one of us is flying a plane.
The main point is this, my team of 4 is far more effective when they know i have their back. Every single time we play all i can hear in my headphones is: “enemy sniper in that building, take him out”, “i’m in a plane, mark troops or tanks”, “we’re going to the bunker to hold it, keep an eye ou for enemy troops”, “take out the flamethrower before it reaches us”, “they built an AT gun that’s killing us, try to take out the gunner”.
You win by slowing the enemy’s advance this is a tug of war…
I have had many games where no one was on cap and we didn’t let the enemy so much and set foot on it… When you have a defensive zone it should be around and in front of the objective not directly on it…
Spotting and marking targets should give more points, especially HVT’s.
Its very frustrating dive bombing when no one marks the tanks.
Sniping works a lot better on offense rather than defense, you can stay close to your spawn point and just shoot at enemy spawns. The enemy will keep getting pushed back and you can advance at your leisure.
The kill cam is a double edged sword. maybe toggle on/off as a custom server option?
I would only be comfortable with kill cam being off, if I was fairly certain there were no cheaters in the game. A sniper will wallhack/aimbot would really ruin game and it would be much less obvious.
the kill cam is some level of accountability, which seems unfortunately necessary to discover cheaters.
I guess I have to agree with you on this one but for a different reason, snipers are the same as riflemen but only with scoped rifles. And here lies the inherent problem. Instead of having a more specialised role, that would allow them to progress doing what snipers should, they are too busy stacking kills for the sake of killcount.
As i said in a previous comment, i wasn’t talking about removing it completely, more like remove the red silhouette but show the area from which you got shot.
“remove the red silhouette but show the area from which you got shot.”
which is very close to removing it completely.
or alternatively the position of the sniper will be the center of the screen, which is more or less the same as having the red silhouette.
sniping might be more specialized if snipers could be further back that the rest of the squads. So sniping in most cases seems more like Dedicated Marksman, especially given the theatre. In WW2 Snipers would be quite far from the action in most cases doing recon and sabotage, not part of a massive fracas. But its video game, so some realism is going to go out the window in the name of having some fun.
This reminds me of smth i encountered while playing airsoft. I’ve been playing airsoft as a sniper for 7 years and on some events you are given a red or blue armband that you have to wear. Now imagine being all ghillied up to hide in the environment and receiving a red armband that stands out. The first question all snipers ask is “can i at least wear it on my leg so it’s not so obvious?” I guess i’m trying to make the same point here, can we find a way to make a snipers position less obvious after they take a shot.
Then how about making the red silhouette change it’s visibility based on the stance and movement of the sniper? What if it was barely visible if the sniper was laying down and standing still and it got more and more visible as he moved and changed his stance? Or reduce the duration of the killcam.
