Improved Medics?

So here’s some suggestions for better medics, maybe if these are useful enough the class could expand to other campaigns

  • let medics build a “medical post”, around 50 m/ft from points, like rallies

  • would take 10 - 20 seconds to build them

  • these would let all soldiers resupply med packs, and for medics syringes (more on syringes later)

  • medics can get a “syringe bag” filling up the secondary weapon slot (I would make it the backpack slot but there’s no button for merely showing a bag and not using it. I’d probably make it something like grenades, only used when you press the button)

  • syringe bags carry 20 syringes, healing around 1/4 - 1/2 of total health

  • when the syringe bag is selected, soldiers will either have a health bar above them, or allied soldiers will be highlighted with a color (blue, green, yellow, orange, red) depending on the soldiers current health

obviously this needs some polishing but it could work, and make medics a little more useful

Medic already deploy a medic box wo do this, and perk for the syringe

Medic are useless. They have to boost it indeed.
The main problem is you get OS and have no time to even benefit from the medic box. I think they should have some instant bonus like:

  • When a soldier resupply at a medic box, they should instantly recover their health (with a coldown)
  • Medic box should give a short time life bonus like +25% life for 20s. Or maybe +x% move speed. Some kind of panzerchocolad buff.

My changes would be :

  • Let medics use both assaulter class weapons AND rifleman class weapons (aside from rifle with grenade launcher)

  • Make the squad more versatile by atleast allowing an engineer. Every other squad in the game can have an engineer, so why not the medic squad?

The time to kill makes medics pretty much useless in this game.

Just allow bots autoheal somebody (if you enable it in squad settings)!
Allow medic heal urself (but use 2-5 syringes) if no medkits.
And add engineer to medic squads.

I didn’t read everything that was said, but all I’m gonna say is maybe they should put the Medic Class in all campaigns. I don’t see why they’re only available in Stalingrad.

Maybe because that they can’t really edit campaigns levels.
Anyways… I think would good add medic squad where we got free weapon in 4-5 lvl.

Medics in the current build of this game are basically an Assault Squad I, without the ability to carry ammo pouches or have diverse squad loadouts.

Its complicated, but I think that should be changed. Because weapons now like BA’s are OHK’s to most troops, make them useless for healing. I do very little healing in this game because the TTK is so low.
No need for healing when one hit takes you basically out of the fight from most guns.

Now, if you want to really change the absolute dynamic of the game, they should make it so Medics bring you back from being dead. Lets assume that all those bodies on the ground aren’t headshotted or gibbed, but representative of not just being instantly dead but wounded as well.

Let the Medic class, be able to bring a select amount of them back into the fight.
It would take some coding but the game already knows roughly where you’ve been shot, so if it can keep that information on the corpse laying on the ground before it despawns, then you might be able to pull this off.

I think it would be totally cool to have a combat medic group (limited to 5, no engineers, and a set limit on how many times the squad can do that) just behind the front lines of the engagement keeping squads in the fight by healing their fallen comrades on the ground.
Suddenly the Medic instead of being basically a weaker Assaulter, becomes vital like a Rally Point to either keep the pressure on the point or keep it defended at all costs.
Now instead of just hunting Rally Points, you’re on the lookout for that Medic squad that keeps bringing them back.

Anywho, just a wierd lunchtime throught.

Well currently medics arent that great, thats why i made this post
it would just be another level to grind
if they were better, this would be a good idea

actually ye, performance drugs were a thing in ww2, but wouldnt there be legal problems if they added this?

true, but making medics better at their job would be nice, without perks, it would also make it seem more realistic
also the “seeing allies health” point still stands

Yeah, the only way to make medics more than a gimmic is to let them revive the fallen allies (when it makes sense).

The problem is Medic are a filler class in the game, the battle is to fast paced for actually use them as intend, as @Upolaf said it is better if the medic box instead of give medkit it cure all soldier health, and i want add to this the possibility of add a free medic in every squad withaut need to use a research tree for add them, at least for make them more present

good points and ideas, but what are the specifics of healing dead soldiers? can you still heal them after the entire squad in question dies? a few days ago i saw another post about medics healing the dead to restore tickets, but this wouldnt help gamemodes where one team is purely defending

Now I don’t know this for certain, but only because I do use squads with customization (Stalingrad) I believe (hopefully someone confirms) that when my entire squad is dead and I spawn in a new squad, my old bodies are gone from the ground.

So, if that is the case, I would say you can only bring them back if that players squad is still in play, and if the body in question is 100% intact (So no gibbed soldiers from grenades are ever coming back) and has not received a Headshot as his fatal wound.

Think of the endless tactical possibilities. It would be insane. It would cause much like the BA shift a fundemental shift in tactics again.

Have half your troops die to BA fire from crossing a field? Throw smoke and have your buddies Medic squad go out and save 2-3 of those guys.
Suddenly your friends squad is more tactically viable again.

I can dream I guess.

Actually medics are pretty good because when you are the medic you can heal your squad when they are clearly wounded. BAs don’t make them useless as stalingrad always had BA buff and medics are still pretty useful

Yes I know medics aren’t these wonderful beings like in Arma 3, but they have a gimmick that’s actually surprisingly pretty good.

i have a unique idea, what if we give medics the ability to inject enemies with poison syringes? i bet that would be a interesting new combat mechanic.

if the soldier is injected with the poison, he would experience a severe case of concussion vision, and eventual death.
