Improved binoculars

This one is simple, binoculars have the same effectiveness as using a soldier’s eyes. Binoculars should be able to mark vehicles, AT guns, AA,etc from farther away than the naked eye.

I’m not sure the exact marking range, but let’s say it’s 75m. If binoculars had an additional 25 m for a total of 100m it would make them more useful for spotting and recon and give them more of a use beyond a “makeshift sniper scope”. A +25% marking range would go perfectly for them turning them from a not so useful/mediocre item into one that has a dedicated and realistic use.

I agree with this 100%. I’m not sure why we can’t mark targets with the binoculars, it seems like the developers would have made it that way already.

I would also propose an ability, that would allow the player to rangefind the target, it would take a second or two of just looking at it, but it would be extremely helpful for AT gunners to counter faraway tanks.

I was just talking about this earlier today in this post: “Reconnaissance”

You might find it interesting, perhaps, especially if you read the link to the older post I made on this.

If there was a recon class, including snipers and so on, that if they did spot something then everyone would see how far away it also is? Cool idea! Sort of like how it is when you use like a mortar, where distances to markers are there. If that was exclusively a thing that a recon class would provide, then that would make that recon class very useful in the game. I’d like to see the sniper class, the rider class, the upcoming officer class, the recon vehicle class, maybe also the radio class, etc having this ability. I like that.

I’ve noticed that my pings will sometimes hit what object I’m peeking from rather than the tank I’m staring at 200m away

you can already mark stuff from 2000+ meters away, the mark distance limit is only noticed in aircraft
