When the Stalingrad campaign came out, it included a new attack for radio operators, the air attack, which was a more lethal and dangerous alternative to the conventional artillery attack, however, today this mechanic is so nerfed, that it is practically useless to use, there are very few times where they become moderately useful, and in most cases it only serves to give the enemy team experience points.
What I want to achieve with this suggestion is that the air attack bombers return to all their original values, that they be a little more resistant to fighter fire, and increase the bombs from 50kg to 100kg (and their variables of the other factions) but conserving its cooldown time. Improving this mechanic and leaving it as it was before would restore its lethality and the sense of using it instead of the artillery attack.
I personally think the ability could be completely removed and I would be fine with it. It’s so slow and useless. And it blocks the actually useful artillery strike. But it shouldn’t be “good” either, nuking half the map from spawn is also a bad mechanic.
For a “fix” it could be a single long line of bombs, being dropped at around the same speed as an artillery strike, covering a similar area, but definitely not the current giant triangle.
DF pretty much made bombers useless on maps where most of the cap points are inside. They’re great on outside maps, but they neutered the bombs to the point that they are useless on anything with a roof. Other then a tank.
May I suggest that DF give all troops an umbrella, as I am sure bombs wouldn’t be able to penetrate that either.
