Impressed by 20v20 Custom Matches – Please Make Large-Scale Battles an Official Mode

Greenthings commanders! xD

I recently tried out some 20v20 custom matches and I have to say — I was genuinely surprised by how fun and intense they were. It really brought back the chaotic, large-scale battlefield feeling that makes Enlisted so unique.

That’s why I’d love to see an official game mode built around this kind of experience. Something like Conquest or Deathmatch, but specifically designed for 20v20 (or even larger!) battles. With proper balancing and map design, I think this could be a fantastic addition to the core game.

Also, I still don’t fully understand why the devs reduced the standard player count from 25v25 to 20v20 some time ago. You can clearly feel the difference — 10 fewer players make the battlefield noticeably less chaotic and a bit too calm at times, especially on larger maps.

Please consider bringing back large-scale battles as an official, supported mode. There’s clearly a demand for it, and the custom matches prove it can work really well!

Anyone else missing the old 25v25 matches or enjoying the current 20v20 customs?

I have not played this mode but am curious. I have two questions;

Is it on the same map size as the current 10v10?

Does this increase the amount of steamroll games or are teams usually well balanced?

Does this work best on high BR or low BR

I haven’t played custom matches, mostly because I get an error every time I try to download the match.

In the custom matches section, you’ll find several maps reworked for 20v20 battles. I recommend trying the mod called “Big Actions.” It’s an expanded version of the Battle of Moscow map—so large that it can’t be crossed on foot. You can deploy squads in trucks or build them using the engineer.

The teams are balanced differently compared to the standard game. For example, engineers can construct many more buildings, and the AT squad only carries a single heavy rifle. BR1 rifles, which are usually useless in the standard 10v10, actually have a place here.

Currently, the mode is set around BR2, and there are at least 50 squads available in the menu. By earning points, you can unlock increasingly stronger squads. I really recommend giving it a try!

That’s strange. If you’re playing on PC, I recommend opening the launcher and running a file integrity check, then try again. If you’re still having issues, let us know whether you’re playing on console, Steam, or through the official launcher.

Yup, i play PC. Just tried again and this is the error I always get.

Do you get to use your normal squads?

The conquest matches that have like 5 or more zone caps will work well for this sort of team setup. It would be a great way to introduce it without straining the servers or overcrowding smaller maps.

Does it happen with any mod? Looking at the error, it seems like it can’t connect to the site where the mod is downloaded from. I recommend also checking the game’s permissions — you might have a block from the antivirus or the application itself that prevents downloads from external sites.

Absolutely yes!

You won’t be using the teams from the standard mode, but rather the ones predefined by the mod — there are tons of them, and they’re very well balanced. However, this can be a bit annoying since everyone would prefer to customize soldiers and weapons to their own liking.

To fix this problem need to clean/remove httpCache that inside mods folder. You can find mods in downloads that in AppData enlisted folder.

I actually found out I can play some modes. Lone fighter and Squads, so, I played three. I learned that lone fighter sucks, the enemy did nothing but spawn camp and I killed 3 people and lost 5 squads. I also found out that BR level must not apply, as I had my level two Allies and my level two Allied dive bomber was shot down by a Jet, which obviously was not level two. There was only one spawn point, and I started when our side had 423 dudes left. BTW, the 3 kills I had were via my plane. I got one pass then was instantly vaporized. My dive bomber was no match for a Jet, and having to look through a dark tinted rear gunner site didn’t help matters. However, I don’t know if I can play all matches, but it appears lone fighter and squads is ok. None of the matches were remotely close, but, at least I won one of the three.

Yeah, Lone Fighter can be rough—spawn camping is a big issue, and the pacing isn’t great. Getting your level 2 bomber taken out by a jet definitely sounds like bad matchmaking. Some games just aren’t balanced, especially with limited spawn points. At least you got a win out of it! Squads might be a better experience overall.

I think I played four total custom match games, and squads were three of the four. The lone fighter IMOP sucked ass. I wasn’t aware that my level two was going to be going up against level five until I saw a plane coming up from behind, and the jet got there a hell of a lot faster then I was expecting. NTM that my rear gunner glass was dark, so I could only barely see the jet. It didn’t matter, he was going twice as fast as I an it was over in a micro second. I was expecting a level two fighter, not a Jet. But the worse was just the spawn camping, it made the game totally unplayable.

I get errors if I try an load games other then squad or lone fighter.
