Implementing a Rally Point spawn prevention when enemy is aiming at it

rather funny coming from the user who uses the forum but also complains about other users calling them idiots for using the forum.

but unlike someone, i’m more open minded for different iterations and try a place for everyone.

after all, if devs have planty of time to make rather unappealing and ugly events ( mainly the april fool one ), i’m sure they have planty of time to try small events like that.

with that being said, as i said, i don’t really care.

this game made me learn the apathy condition.

but i digress. we are perhaps going in the " off rail " territory ".

some people are foreign to the concept of different ideas or view points that actually challenges the argument.

even if it doesn’t actually affect me. ( believe it or not. )

that entire " essay, " to which i’m sure you read, ( sarcasm )
simply underlies a different issue caused by this " core " gameplay within the game.

nothing more, nothing less.

and just like the other clan kid, you can stalk my own replay and find that i pretty much build rally points because of how convenient they are.
call it muscle memory, call it " hypocrisy " there’s no escape from the actual reality.

but i’ll leave you lovely people to it.

But well the sheets can make someone think differently along with the news and dramas that happen among this community and if you actually know me when it comes to talking abt thee balance of this game im looking for a 1:1

but oh mb we are not talking abt game balance so this doesnt matter what i said above we are talking about game mechanics and when it comes to mechanics of this game specificly the rally points which is an escencial game mechanic (that on my pov is maybe the only perfect thing this game had done) i just find stupid to see someone say that it should be removed from the game since it allow the gameplay to have at least quite some coherence and not turn it into a walking simulator with tiny maps…

While I’m against removing rallies in the game’s current state, I do think Adam has a good suggestion with DF doing events to trial new ideas.

It would be cool to see tweaks to APCs/what the game would be like with no rallies (or maybe preset squads where only the engineer squad can make a rally).

OR imagine we finally get all those custom game customization options that we were promised years ago (haha yeah right, like that’ll ever happen).

Off topic: but the game’s format as a whole needs an overhaul. I think both sides here have good points but they don’t work with the current state of the game (especially high BR HE hell) and would require additional overhauls (which probs will never happen).

well im picking both due the fact that who want to walk 90-130 meters to the objective when u can do the same but around 40-50 instead?

remember this game have cod gameplay on some way is and for this game 90-130 meters are too much

obviously the things change when it comes to compare the game with hell let walking

And on topic of removing rallies, I guess the OP can be the solution? So basically you can use rallies but only if there are no enemies near.
This way you get the best of both words:

  • you don’t need to run through an empty area with no enemies to get into action
  • you can’t spawn if the enemy is X meters away / has direct line of sight and you need to maintain some map control (“secure logistics” kind of thing) because of this

Additionally, APCs on account of being armoured (yes, we have trucks) could have much smaller or even non existent enemy detection radius.

You are overreacting. Extra 50m is nothing in this game

Enlisted is in a weird place. On the one hand you have slow clunky movement (changing position, gun drop when jumping, etc from the movement nerfs) but on the other you have sprint perk/stamina/flask/sword/movement speed while crouching/prone/jump height/etc. It can’t decide if it wants to be COD or HLL and so you end up with a gross mesh of the two where movement feels both too fast and too slow and nobody is happy.

I personally enjoyed jump/drop shotting in the old days but I can also enjoy more realistic movement. But when half the game is COD-lite and the other half trying to be realistic, it’s just a frustrating, inconsistent experience.

I kind of agree but personally I’d like a game that is fast but at the same time somewhat realistic. Kind of like red orchestra from what I know (I never played to be clear). Use arcade mechanics for realistic outcomes kind of thing.

I’m surprised there is not really such game. I’m sure there are a lot of players like me who would like to play a somewhat realistic game without organizing into a 50 member clan to play one match for 2h (only to be assigned some boring ass guard duty). But I guess I’m missing something.

well when u realize that time to capture is fast the gameplay as i mentioned previously is too fast aswell and with the fact that u can make ur soldiers move even faster also i see how no having rallies trully affects the gameplay and when it comes to the speed i previously mentioned every meter even if are 5-6 it can tecnically decide who wins/loose in terms of speed

I agree with this but that still doesn’t mean it’s a walking simulator without a rally. It’s just slower

But enlisted is the best ever game ever made in the entire world!!!

Maybe instead of a rally point spawn protection they should make the rally point structure larger like a tent or something instead of the small little boxes. Also instead of being able to build the rally point 50-40m to a objective it should be 70-80m so you dont run into the changes of getting gunned down by a ambush/ MG nest and it’ll make APC/ trucks more likely to be used since they can be placed 50m near a point. In turn it’ll make the matches more strategic by having the new rally points spawn point at 80m instead of the regular spawn points 100+m and having the APC/ trucks as the way to advance the game ( spawning in and rushing points ). If the rally points do become a bigger structure the main way to destroy them would be tnt bombs, tnt charges, rockets/bombs, or destroying it by hand like tank traps.with this idea I think it’ll be the best of both sides of ideas of not having rally points and having the rally points as better movement/ strategic moves.
