the ideas of subtrees have been suggested before, but I would like to add my own idea for it.so the main summary of the idea is that each of the main factions gets a few subtrees that are independent of the main nation’s research tree and equipment of the subnations is moved to the sub-tree,which brings a few benefits.so without further ado, here’s the meat and bones.
-less bloating
this will help the bloating of factions a bit, germany especially, since out of the TT,26 items in it’s TT would be moved if the sub-trees.
-more new equipment available
if this happens, these sub-trees would be rather small, but there is a lot new unique stuff that can be added to fill them.this also gives people something to play for other then events.
-role players happy
for the people who love playing as the UK,Italy,or whatever, from the point mentioned above, will be able to have more equipment to better fight across multiple BRs,which is difficult due to the limited equipment avalible, most of it at low BR
-opens the gateway to new nationalities and squads
this will allow you to have more variety among your soldiers and lets you have additional squads available
the part that is the most interesting out of these, here are the subtrees and some of the equipment they would have.it would take a while to get all the suggested equipment made or ported, and you wouldn’t be able to 100% play as these, only getting up to a certain percentage, but still would give a lot more then what is in the game now.this part is a little messy,so sorry if there is an error somewhere,I’ll try to fix them if I find any.I couldn’t find enough stuff for Japan or the USSR to have their own separate branch,as I couldn’t really find anywhere it would get foreign equipment, maybe for Japan China would be added, but that’s kinda iffy since most of China’s stuff is copies of other stuff and the US is already getting Chinese stuff.keep in mind this would be some placeholder stuff, and a lot could be added later on,as well as implementation of one of these for the USSR and Japan.
European Axis
there would be 2 of them since there was a lot of stuff from different places used by the European axis
Italy,Hungary,Romania,and France
quite a good deal of unique equipment can be added from these countries either allied to germany or invaded by them, and would break the monotony.there is a huge amount of stuff that could be added not given.

A Hungarian pistol with a 7 round magazine, distinct because of the pinky support
Solothurn S-18/100,BR 1~2 AT
a semi automatic 20mm AT gun used widely, could be fun to see in game especially if it gets the option to use a scope, although it’s use would become negligible at BR2 at it’s intended role.
MAS 38,BR1 SMG
A french SMG captured during the invasion of france, more were produced under occupation then while it was free.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/MAS-38.jpg
Chauchat,BR2 LMG

MÁVAG Héja II Zuhanóbombázó,BR 1~2 fighter
a Hungarian plane based on the Re.2000,has dual modified 12.7mm machine guns that would eat through the ammo very fast, which isn’t very good, but it does have a 250kg bomb instead.in comparison with other BR1 fighters,it has only 2 12.7mms and a 250kg in comparison to the IARs (which should be 2) dual 7.92 FN machine guns and dual 20mm MG 151s,as well as two 50kg bombs and a 250kg bomb.the BF 109 E7/U2 has dual 7.92s and 20mm MG FF/Ms which will last around as long as the 12.7mms while being stronger, and four 50kg bombs (only 50kgs difference)

2 fighter chassis slapped together, good mix of 20mms and 12.7mms,to make up for the amazing guns it has a relatively small bombload of six 50kg bombs

tanks
while most of the tanks here are stolen russian tanks because the sub-tree needs to have a few tanks, they are not the best russian tanks, with there being better variants of the vehicles available to the russians except for the T34-85,but that’s not that big of a deal since it is a very uncommon tank, most russian tanks seen being T34-85 D5Ts and IS2s.
Vickers mark E,BR1 tank
a british tank bought by Finland fitted with a unique cannon and machine gun,not very strong but something different.
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZLllcUT6t5I/sddefault.jpg
T28,BR2 tank
the early T28,not the improved T28E,in game. (if seeing in the swastika in a WW2 community offends you it’s best you move away from WW2 related things, and it’s not even being used by the Germans in this case)
https://i.redd.it/ndzwn74z9v731.jpg
BT-42,BR2~3 SPG
a captured BT7 fitted with a 114mm howitzer,it keeps the very weak armour of the BT7 and a very slow turret rotation speed, which could maybe make it BR2,but could go to 3.
T34,BR3 tank
one of the earlier T34s,not the better 57mm T34,in game.

T34-85,BR4 tank

planes
VL Myrsky II,BR1 fighter
armed with four 12.7mms and two weak 100kg bombs, could be fun for low tier
Ar 196 A-5,BR1 bomber
a German seaplane provided to Finland, the role of “bomber” is put secondary due to only having two 50kg bombs, this plane gets a quite nice gun selection at BR1 for a bomber, taking the guns of the BF109 E7/U2 and giving it 2 MG81s as a rear gunner.this would be used really as a way to just have a bomber up at low BR that isn’t the Potez.
https://static.encyclopedia.warthunder.com/images/arado-196a-5.png
Ju 88 A4,BR3 bomber
a few examples of the German were provided to finland during the Winter War,has 4 defensive gunners using 7.92mm MG81s in addition to the pilot controlled MG81,comes with dual 500kg bombs

almost the same as the normal 109 G6,but has a 30mm instead of the 20mm and has a slightly different cockpit layout
VL Pyörremyrsky,BR 4 fighter
a fighter with a 20mm cannon and 12.7mms weaker then the 13mm machine guns on BF 109s with similar preformance, this gets four 100kg bombs instead of 50kgs,although they aren’t a huge improvement over 50kgs (25kgs of explosive mass on german 50kgs,only 36 on this,so only 11kgs more)
Western Allies
Britain,the Commonwealth,and Free France

https://www.forgottenweapons.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/sten-mk5.png
Lewis gun,BR3 LMG
already in game, kinda strange how the gun mass used by the British strangely isn’t used by the british and instead the russians who got a few from lend lease.
