I combed through the automatic guns I had access to of each faction and found several still missing their semi-auto firing mode. It’s possible I may have missed an obscure event or old BP weapon, but these are all the ones I was able to verify with information online:
USSR
Madsen
Allies
Bren Mk I
Bren Mk II
Bren MK2 100 (actually a Mk I)
BSA Welgun
Chatellerault M24/29
Owen Mk 1
Owen .45 ACP
Germany
MP 28
MP 35/I
MG 13
ZB-26

Yeah. I really like the fact that we have semi-automatic mode on guns where you would least expect it. For instance, the MG-34 with the 75 round magazine. I also do wish to see such a functionality for other guns as well.
That update was my main motivation for this post because the MG 13 with the same double-crescent trigger design as the 34 got overlooked and I can’t unsee it. I didn’t expect to come up with this many, but it was fun enough learning about each of them and how their internals work in the process.

That thing had semi auto? Bet
Yeah. Thanks for spreading the knowledge.
its for one of three reasons
balance - i am betting you want better accuracy in semi-auto turning
SMG - into carbine and MG into BR so no
2 - laziness it takes work to add more
3 - ignorance
1 is the most likely as SMG are close action weapons the point is you are supposed to struggle for longer ranged kills
2 when i mean lazy i mean they have bigger fish to fry, fixing major bugs and adding new content
3 - the least likely, they know and 1 or 2 apply
I’m leaning toward ignorance since we already have it for the MG 34, Vickers-Berthier, and several SMGs of varying fire rates including the PPDs. I don’t expect game devs to magically know everything about firearms.

The Madson in single shot semi, that might make it more fun to use. Even though it still needs a slight recoil buff.
The Owen MK 1, MG 13, ZB-26, and the Bren guns. All perfect for semi auto single fire. It really should be introduced all of the weapons in that list.
