I’ve played Enlisted, and there are certain elements that I feel need polishing, aside from reworking some maps and the lighting. Among them is the flawed damage system the game implements; it’s completely inefficient. On one hand, it’s like a random game where sometimes you kill or just knock down the enemy. I know there’s a perk with the probability of being downed, but there are ridiculously rare times when a shot to a limb kills you, instead of being downed or hitting the body of an enemy you were sure to hit first, and instead of knocking them down, you end up getting killed first. My recommendation is to try the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm system, which I see as having a better balance between damage and providing a better way to avoid ridiculous nerfs that don’t help the game at all and only hurt it more and more. The end is my opinion, nothing more. Whether you take it or not is your decision. But I seriously think the damage system in the game is completely inefficient and unfair.
as much i too would love for semi realistic damage model just like red orchestras type of games, ( or AM which it’s similar to tarkov but simplify-it with bandages, would work )
but it will never be introduced as most of the playerbase prefers the current arcady run and gun type of gameplay.
hell, they even made a fuzz out of the anti tank rifle from the bp ( the S18-100 ) which required to be used in bipod position ( like realistically it was designed to. although, granted you technically couldn’t just run with a 50kg “rifle” around with not many issues ).
the only " realistic " system that is still in place to this day were and are the tank models.
concussion from explosions, stamina drain on heavy weapons, and many more were removed to appease the primary casual audience ( personally, i don’t mind. as for me, i can my own mods more realistic and let the vanilla game be whatever it wants to be as long more people plays it and pays the bills ).
but that’s because those were imported from war thunder.
so… some sort of charm or whatever.
It depends on which card games have a “little” bit of realism. I’m not asking for it to be a Tarkov, much less a HLL, Squad 44, or the games I mentioned. I think there are stupid controversies like the one you mentioned; I even feel like they should have applied that to the other anti-tank rifles, because I truly doubt anyone could shoulder-fire a 20mm rifle, let alone a PTDRS 41. The only thing you need is simple: create a more polished damage model that achieves its purpose and doesn’t cause any problems.
again, as said, i more or less agree.
( believe it or not, i am in favor of even more drastic and realistic changes to the gameplay )
but good luck convincing everyone else.
after all, this game is made by more than 1 person.
we are the minority after all.
