Enlisted has a lot of potential however maybe it needs an upgrade on graphics for the “immersive experience”?
The graphics and experience of combat in HLL are phenomenal but could it be possible for enlisted?
Making it more realistic, more gory, more resolution, sound effect improvement, maybe 4k, crisp and clearer texture and also… proximity chat?
At least for PC, the texture quality of Enlisted is generally 8K except some old map and vehicles, which is better than HLL in most cases, and also in terms of performance (more specified according to post 3: GPU efficiency and CPU power efficiency), because of the outstanding efficiency of Dagor engine. The reason it do not look as good is its colour filter and visual effect.
For filter, future introduction of HDR and custom filter will improve that, it is not that difficulty. For visual effect, Dogar engine is originally designed for vehicle only games, so there is still a lot of work need to be done by the developers to make it more realistic and immersive from the eyes of a infantry soldier.
Graphics =/ immersion
Hll is immersive bcs its gameplay
Enlisted requires more ram than hll on pc .
Enlisted never designed to be like hll.
Comparing them is like comparin apple and banana
I know bcs i played both of them
If you are talking abouty gritty colors, rainy and night maps also dont have same feeling like hll.
You always fear getting shot and paranoic about possible enemies lying behind any object.
You know you are vulnerable.
For eg. A mod for bf2 named forgotten hope 2 (ww2 settings) was very popular in mid 2000’s .
For todays standarts its graphics are antiquated.
But gameplay is a hundred times immersive and realistic than enlisted can ever be.
And personally i think its still way better than %90 of modern shooters in 2020’s
You sure? HLL minimum requirement is 12GB RAM, Enlisted only need 8GB RAM.
I arranged the graphics for best performance in both games. Enlisted consumes way more ram.
Fps drops are common in rnlisted menawhile i play hll without any problem
I did not play HLL because my GPU can not run that at 60 FPS with a good graphic quality, so I do not have the opportunity to test it out. But any RAM usage below somewhere about 95% and did not flow into virtual RAM should not be considered as worse efficiency, if you learnt about computer theory you will understand it is reducing lag caused by disk. A better comparison is on a computer with limited ram, which one start using virtual RAM or crash first.
well, HLL its really a bad game in comparison whit Red orchestra 2, 2011 game and was the best online ww2 game of all the times
It’s a color and texture problem.
Too light color, too matt texture.
The game will be very impressive when they separate the arcade level from the realistic one.
I repeat it over and over like a mantra. In closed beta you only had 10 respawns, the damage was let’s say natural, no normalization. One shot killed or knocked him out. For this reason, until recently, soldiers had so few magazines with them. And of course friendly fire from all grenades, bombs, rockets, artillery and all other explosive toys. The bullets also went through the walls. Such a T-60 or PzII pierced houses with armor-piercing ammunition. No one has ever been so stupid as now, and they circulated. People somehow paid more attention to where the allies were.
Plus gore and blood. Dismembered bodies that didn’t disappear, they were only ground by artillery.
A grenade thrown into a room killed everyone who was there, not like now, that out of seven peasants, two or three die.
Your friend threw a grenade into the bunker you just cleared of enemies with your trench broom? Sorry buddy, but a grenade is no longer a friend to anyone after the pin is pulled.
Splinters from the bombs also pierced the walls. With one successful raid you could do 50, 60, 72 frags.
And after what was in cbt, I would also introduce:
a) Explosion of the napalm tank for the flamethrower.
b) changing weather and time of day, of course not on all maps because on D-Day it was sunny, warm and cloudless.
c) I would restore the ability to dilute opponents and random allies.
d) negative points for friendly fire.
e) Lack of insight into the remaining ammo during combat (something like in tarkov where you have to check how much you have left in your weapon and spare magazines or like in squad that the colors of the magazines indicate how much +/- you have left).
f) Being injured even when you don’t have a first aid kit (more work for medics)
g) Loss of pilot consciousness at excessive G-forces.
h) Something that may sound strange, but soldiers could have a morale bar that, when it drops, the soldier vomits. (and you lose control for a while).
j) I would restore reload jams and even use it as a balance. Jams in machine guns were common, especially in new designs. Thanks to this, such an FG42 that uses rifle ammunition would have a better chance of jamming while firing, than such a bolt-action rifle.
Do you think that the old enlisted gameplay like in this video is better than now?
“in my opinion this gameplay looks closer to realism than it currently is”
I feel like one of the biggest sin Enlisted have is AI soldiers lacking a dynamic cover system. As shown in the video and in the current version bots don’t react to getting shot at other than turning to look for a brief period then maybe shoot back.
Devs should extend on that behavior and make bot seek the closest cover behind static placements based on the direction of the attacker. Static placements should have a cover value from let’s say 0 to 1, 0 being the worst 1 being the best. Bonus if the different cover value trigger different animations like taking cover, peeking, etc.
This picture below for example feel very much alive and immersive, the bots in the current version just stop to shoot in the open.
three attackers at that picture is also a problem. It’s a lie.
HLL is not immersive, it is a walking simulator, at least on console, no comms and performance was choppy at best, I gave it a good go and always went back to Enlisted, mainly coz I can fly in here!
Stop comparing two different types of game, I think Enlisted has far better atmosphere and more fun, which is the key word for me…
I don’t agree with everything but I’d velcome a more realistic/hardcore gamemode.
(Note for morons: more realistic =/= walking simulator.)
For me, the greatest immersion would be to mix Enlisted and Escape from Tarkov.
The Vietnam campaign would cause paranoia because the bushes would be talking Vietnamese, and the American soldiers would have an extra carton of acid.
lol go walk noob !!!
It all depends how theyr going to implement the modding tool or what ever it was.
A well done lonewolf in customs would be welcome too.
The one I tried back in days when it was in matchmake was quite horrible considering there wasnt even cooldown in artillery.
From that game I would take, except for the cement bunker, many of the constructions for the engineers, in order to create category 1, 2 and 3 engineers that each have their strengths and weaknesses, for example the structures of engineer 1 have less durability but They can be placed more easily, the engineer 2 ones last longer but they cost slightly to place and the engineer 3 ones are the most resistant but they take a LONG time to be placed without a proper perk, this would also allow you to make the “weapons” that an engineer, be it cannon, machine gun or anti-aircraft they have different ranges and you have to think about what is best for the battle, because sometimes it is better to delay the enemy a bit and in others to set up a trench, although certain maps would not easily allow this, it’s an idea
It doesnt really need a upgrade.
The game just needs to look less cartoonish and oversatured. Even CoD2042 isnt that satured.
