The pz.III can also kill the kv-1 from the front with its HEAT rounds.

yes true but on the other hand, german tanks often carried multiple Shells with a Wolfram core (PzGr 40), which had significantly more penetration in close to mid range (not on long range tho). for the short 5cm it is 96mm on 100m and 58 on 500m and i think that this shell type should be added, especially on moskau but also on stalingrad there already were the Pz 3J with the long 5cm gun which could reliably penetrate the russian tanks in close range when not angled but - we dont have them in the game yet.

Terrible metal, appalling welding, constant lack of radios, constant exhaustion of crews, poor quality of powder, like even for the start of barbarossa they were not not using smokeless powder
Its a great design that allowed for a mid tiered tank to be produced for cheap but they took even morr short cuts to met demands
