hello and to My own section in the forum “imagine if” where we are going to discuss about if X thing is removed, added or rewored in the gam
Today topic is about the weapons in General do You think that this feature is usefull? I mean some upgrated weapons have no significant difference between a non-upgrated one
Also this broke the “inmersion” into the Game which
Sometimes force You to upgrate your weapons which don’t make any sense if we consider enlisted as a Game with “inmersive gameplay”
So if this this is removed the Game should improve? In some way?
I mean some upgrated weapons have no significant difference between a non-upgrated one
Do you mean visually or stats, i consider 15% more damage or less dispersion to be significant
no i don’t upgrade most of my weapons
Do you mean a BR2 wont magically get the Stats of a BR3 weapon duh
This is not COD you do not get ten more bullets if you upgrade
this is a new barrel or spring in the mage not taking the barrel of a Thomson so you can go from 9MM to 45 cal
Personally i never noticed a difference its Even more upgrates personally are unuseful and very expensive
Specialy in br 4-5, dispersion no matter in My opinion the only stat that can be usefull is damage because:
More damage= the damage at distances is better allowing You to one shot from Even large distances,
but for submachine guns well… Rmp and the player reaction time Will definy the end of the engagement
Short answer: Upgrate weapons isn’t usefull and just waste your silver
Personally I’ve never felt like those are upgrades but rather “grind to buy this weapon but artificially gimped to 90% of it’s power and then grind some more so you can pay again to make the weapon perform at it’s 100% capacity”.
Also it’s simply boring. 3 premade linear upgrades, wow, such engaging gameplay.
I wish we had system like in Heroes and Generals. Imo it was well made and suited ww2 well.
Imo weapon upgrades should be either very heavily reworked or removed and weapons should be bought already with “upgrades” (aka no downgrades).
Current system serves no purpose other than additional but optional cost to a weapon (in silver but mostly in grind).
Gotta agree, I mean H&G was kinda P2W, however the actual system of upgrades was both really intuitive and really fun. Id love to see something like that in game now.
With WWII guns u won’t get a lot of customizations, not to mention a lot of them are pure fantasy guns. But I don’t want to see vanguard lvl of absurd/cursed designs
In H&G it was really fitting for a ww2 game.
You could change the parts of the guns to get some bonuses but also some downsides. Examples:
change barrel for better accuracy or better damage at range
change spring and trigger for more rpm but less stability or the opposite
change sights to have better accuracy or add scope
change bullets for more damage, range, accuracy or AP performance (often with quite a lot of downsides)
Of course it wasn’t 100% realistic but it’s a very good compromise between gun upgrades/customization and keeping the authentic ww2 feel.
Also each upgrade added to the “spawn cost” of the weapon in the match (it was more like a timer). Basically it prevented you from quickly spawning with powerfull equipment back to back.
I mention it only to present the full picture.
The worst part of this system was the upkeep cost (like in WT). But enlisted devs said it won’t be implemented so there are no issues.
I don’t really like it from a realistic point of view, but, I could excuse it if the stats were realistic from the get go
Say, the barrel upgrade that increases damage. Maybe the rifling is worn, or the barrel is fouled up. Replacing it will give the round its proper spin and full velocity and energy upon impact. This should also reduce dispersion for the same reasons
The RoF increase is a big one to me. If we had real RoF’s for our guns, then maybe they could start out slightly lower than real due to worn out and dirty parts. The RoF upgrade “restores” the gun to its full RoF via maintenance
Stuff like that. Really I just want stats that make sense, as most guns that aren’t Bolties have stats that don’t
