I'm scared

Hello everyone. [Serpiko82] I am also a beginner. At first battles were frustrating. Watching your enemy slaughter you. For his experience and above all for his planning at the time of battle. Use of smoke, bombardment, flanking you, enemy marking, protection of armoured units, map awareness. etc. And above all, don’t go straight ahead, they are waiting for you. Now, even if I lose, I learn and enjoy myself. Enemy I take my hat off to you the Battle was impeccable. Now I try to do what they do and become their nightmare. And of course it is a pleasure to play on the same side with experienced players. Sorry for my English. Greetings from Madrid.

Believe!
I know that sounds like a cat poster, but its true.

@Serpiko82 is a veteran thought…

He just said he doesn’t like too “sweaty” matches, I likewise limit myself to 1 or 2 intense matches per day. We both know all those strategies… It’s just that sometimes, a more relaxed pace is enjoyable.

We dont know whst we dont know unfortunately.
I haven’t the foggiest idea of what will become of the servers once the merge happens. Sadly what I will miss the most is specific campaigns. And avoiding others, now Im actually going to have to spend hours I guess presetting squads so they go to the regions I want?

I dont want to have to think that hard to play this game.

I dont honestly believe that BR will make the game better either.
However what I think and what will happen can end up as two totally different things.
So it will be a wait and see moment.
Either its good or workable and not 24/7 COD sweatfests, or its not.

I’m going to miss that too. We won’t be able anymore to choose to play in the snow, rather than in the desert, or country villages, or a city in ruins, depending on how we feel like.

We’ll only be able to rely on specific equipment settings HOPING that they’ll lead us to a certain theatre.

That’s exactly the reason why I propose to add PVE mode. Whether it’s for low level players or those who just don’t want to tryhard.

Nothing to fear, just have other games ready to go

don’t depend on just this game to give you a fun time

there are plenty of fun single player shooters out there to enjoy

I’ve been preparing for the eventuality that this game goes sideways, as I have seen it happen regularly with such games, it happened with Heroes and Generals, it happened with Planetside 2, it happened with the battlefield series…it’s like games just get worse instead of getting better these days…

But there are some games that can still provide an exciting single player first person shooter experience

and if that’s not your cup of tea, then consider that you can still quit out of crap matches and find a new match, which is still the best way to avoid the sweaty tryhards on the opposing team and find them on your team instead

I am also not optimistic about this system change

for a few reasons

one is that I prefer to play the campaign according to my choice, with this new system, I will not really have a choice, because if I want to play with certain weapons, the game will dictate the maps, so I will lose that control, which is a huge negative for me personally

second, I worked very hard to earn better weapons, gear and vehicles etc in certain campaigns so that I could then have an advantage over others that did not work as hard as me in those campaigns, now all that hard work is being thrown out the window with this new system, and I will have to choose a br level to play at, and at that level, I will no longer have an advantage

and lastly, I just don’t like the warthunder system, and so that alone makes me hate it being implemented here

the other thing is more my own personal feeling, and it’s nothing proven until it happens, but it’s the common thing of devs in these free to play games constantly tightening down on earnings whilst increasing costs, but we will have to wait and see how that plays out

Personally, I’m going to play as much with the current system as possible before it permanently disappears, as I’m not optimistic that I will like the new system

but I’m not scared, I’m just prepared, enjoy it whilst it lasts, and then be prepared to move on

You can always stick to low tier equipment and farm the newcomers and part of this community won’t even judge you as this was something that said they didn’t care when the discussion between Skill vs Equipment based matchmaking was going.

If the devs allow presets just have your high tier preset, play once or twice and go down to seal club the newbies after.

Also, if I understood well, the Bolt Action buff turned every newbie as deadly as a veteran so the only advantage veterans had was their equipment and once you go to their tier not even that am I right forum?

This resonates with me too. I enjoy difficult matches, especially on weekends. During the week, if I have the ability to get games in I will not be in the mood for much of a meat grinder. My job is stressful and after 8 - 12 hours of intensely tiring and stressful work, jumping into a stacked Normandy or Berlin match (for example) is absolutely not for me.

I’m generally positive on the upcoming changes but agree with the concern expressed by OP and some others in this thread.

Perhaps the low BR setups will lead often enough to the sorts of matches that are more suited to this type of preference?

Hey bud I was in the same boat about 3 months ago… (I never played in a group yet always solo, but its something I look forward to playing in team).
I am retired and not the fastest with reflexes etc due to nerve damage issues and and ageing … lol, but take it from me with time comes kills … I do ok now in most games and for me actually seeing other ( enemy players ) was a major issue but now I know where and what to look for, only area I really struggle with now is when in a plane and trying to identify ground targets when flying by, as 9 times out of 10 most team members don’t assist with armour marks etc to point out what needs taking care of.
All in all enlisted is a great game just some matches are way way 1 sided, due to like 10 gold rank players v 2 and a team of bots to assist you … lol
Games like this I just sit back with radio op and sniper… just have fun

BR removes weaponry unfairness → strict improvement over the current idiotic chaos where the 60% new players spawning in normandy get sweatlorded away by calliopes in their first match.

its illogical to say the BR wont create significant improvements.
what you mentioned is playerskill-based unfairness. i talked about that right after i started playing the game and proposed enlisted introduces ELO ratings for all players, so only similar players play against each other.
—> the answer in this forum? sweatlords crying “oh noooo then i wont be able to clap noobs anymore and actually will be destroyed by similar players…thats not why i bought 100 premium squads”.
literally mindset
the best solution is to combine BR with ELO but letting players choose whether they wanna play ranked or not (exactly how most games in the world do it)

Sweat lord group play will always be an instant win button in 90% of the games, however I would say more players will also decrease the chance to encounter those groups.

I think you are overreacting a bit.
My experience is that about 80% of the total player base consists of pretty weak players.

I doubt there’s enough carry’s to be a problem on that scale. Nearly the only time you see more than 1 of them in a game is if they are grouped up.

Warthunder makes an effort by matching a group against another group. Also I’m pretty sure it favors up tiering you if you group up, which while increasing the challenge, is still annoying.

Balanced on paper just like in War Thunder but still the reality of one sided stomp matches happen alot due to poorly skilled players in a single team

CS:GO had it and might as well be a good compromise on the existing system where marshals or those who don’t want to feel like ranking would go to.

Just like War Thunder.

Honestly you know its really bad when players actively seeking bot farms for a more relaxing gameplay with most of the time being both extremes where either its a completely one sided stomp match or a completely sweaty and toxic match.

I’m also sceptical about the update but not really in terms of players’ skills (unless somehow enlisted playerbase is better than any other fps I’ve played).

I’m more concerned that full human matches will turn into toxfest. Every single player will use the most scummy, unfun tactic possible.
If this happen, I’m basically done with enlisted. I’m here to shoot bots and have fun, not to swim in a toxic slugde.

Now this is a good answer.

Having fun, always :stuck_out_tongue:

I mentioned it in another post, but ultimately BR will be a good addition but likely be a little imbalanced with the first iteration, particularly in the upper BR levels but I’m confident it will be adjusted accordingly

I dont think seal clubbing will be all that common, good players dont really need to do that and playing at a lower BR is honestly just reducing your XP gains because you arent getting the kills and awards you would with a more diverse equipment set.

But realistically we will see how the meta shifts once the update releases
