Il-10 vs Il-2m3 in Berlin

For me the Il-10 was the only worthwhile addition in the recent campaign extension for all the allied sides - everything else was pretty poor effort and of little worth IMO.

Pleased to say though, that the Il-10 is a good improvement over the Il-2m3 - even with a “stock” Il-10 vs 6-star Il-2 - it is faster, and climbs and turns better.

A bit more ambivalent with the bombload - losing the rockets hurts a bit, and while the 250kg bombs should be pretty powerful you have to deliver them accurately - something that is much easier to do with rockets!

Also visibility from the pilot seat is terrible - they’ve blocked off ALL visibility to the rear - you can see in a 180 degree arc (90 degrees either side of straight ahead) ahead only!! That’s pretty bad - not a game changer, but certainly a shortcoming.

All in all it is better tho’ just for the flying ability - I’ll be spending up large to star it up to max

I think it’s more like the Stuka vs Me410. Which for Me410 (after the nerf), due to less bombs and hard to control, it’s less effective in many ways. But it get a decent control and AA ability.
But, for soviet, we can only choose one. for german, I simply bring both of them.

(I am now considering switch back to IL2M3)

Il-10 is much faster and easier to maneuver plus 250kg bombs at the expense of no rockets but still have its auto cannons and MGs which is way better than nothing just like the Ju-188 with only 250-kg bombs and thats it.

AVT-40 for USSR, I’m thinking giving my non SMG soldiers in assaulter squads one plus large ammo pouch. Did test the gun in the range and the full auto is much more controllable than AVS-36.

If you want to talk about the AVT go ahead and raise a thread and don’t derail others please.
