If you’re going to fly in Enlisted, then please, for the love of Patton, shoot down enemy aircraft! There’s nothing worse than having two fighter planes in the air, completely ignoring enemy bombers. If you’re going to fly, then please, please don’t be useless!

I was in a JU 188 recently for an entire Invasion mission (because I was sick of playing infantry and constantly being the only person building rallys) and a P38 completely ignored me.
I can only guess that it’s because Bombers are bullet sponges and that pilot felt he could help his team more by making continuous re-arms with rockets than wasting time with me.

You have two fighters in the air? I went with fighter this morning because of “Kill X airplanes” task and I circled around and only one enemy plane for the entire game was actually trying to fly the plane and not ditch it to the ground after releasing its payload. It made that task a bit more challenging than I initially thought. Fighter is not rewarding I basically never fly it.

It just takes practice to hit planes in their major vulnerable areas, especially if the pilot is in a P-51 or a 109. We won’t mention the Tunisian aircraft, because the ones I’ve tried were awful. In Tunisia, I can’t blame pilots for ignoring each other, lol.

Reminds me of BFV where bomber pilots tended to not shoot down eachother so they could farm infantry and tanks.
Ah right. The bug is so old that I forgot it. On the other hand I dont face that many P51s anymore since P47 came.
i enjoy flying fighter planes, but honestly untill they fix the plane damage models, i only play as a last resort when enemy bomber is really annoying. cause its a real pain in the ass to try and shoot down those bombers:
currently i play with germans on normandy, p-38 and a-20 - absolute bullet sponges. unless i somehow get lucky and kill the pilot it i sometimes need to waste full ammo belt , go back rearm and spend close to half of it again in order to shoot them down, i tried everything, focusing on wings, engines, tail but no dice.
You know the amount of enjoyment i get when i chase a-20 on airfield invasion, filled it with more holes than a swiss cheese while the enemy just cruises along popping balloons refilling spawn points, then bombs half of my team (and myself if i am not careful) and suicides ? 0, exactly 0. not to mention half of the times they just respawn with another plane and shoot me down cause i am all out of ammo, or continue doing the same while i`m ressuplying
Did you aim for the engine?
yes, i always try to aim at the engines, but even that is kind of hard cause idk but somehow the US bombers are as maneuvrable (if not more) that german fighters. not to mention the garbage that is fw 190.
