You are right, Tunisia and Normandy were not really fixed, it was just that the suffering side was changed.

First I will try to disagree with your overall concept here, first, the AVT and the FG42 II are not the same weapon and play very differently - heck even both FG versions play differently.
I for example prefer the first FG version over the second, because of my playstyle, “Mid range support fire” both the AVS and the first FG42 have great sights and work very well in single shot fire - while the second FG42 exceeds “mostly only” in pure full auto fire.
To say the FG42 II being better than the soviet “apparent counterpart” is not fair, and if anything a question of preferences.

I guess having worse gun and non existing reverse speed (slowness) is superior now.

The reason why Berlin allies are non existent isn’t influenced by equipment, lol. I remember times when situation was completely reversed.
Then to say that Panther >> T34 might arguably be true, but only since the recent changes, befor that the Panther sucked big time.
Still if you really cared about balance, how can you miss the fact that germany gets the panzer IV to face T34s, which right now is much much worse.

Sniper especially. Sniper AVS is a proper snipers weapon and does what you choose a sniper for. Sniper STG does what you pick an assaulter for. Id rather take a scoped kar98 lol. And i do

Not playing allies Berlin, but from my so far experience the IS 2 has about 20% - 50% stronger effective armor than it would have in reality or even compared to warthunder.
It makes total sense gameplay wise to give the IS2 more power in order to be a fair rival of the King Tiger, still makes my heart bleed seeing this attack on historical accuracy.
Tho, in a direct comparison the slow reload speed must suck big time, even if the IS2 tank had the overall upper hand against Tigers - the slow reload speed would still work against the vehicle.
50cal MGs are nice tho.
