If the next update is gonna suck, I'm out

The game desperately needs suppression mechanics. Right now it feels so weird without it, it is the primary issue imo. Theres hails of bullets flying everywhere and every real player is just sitting back pixel hunting with their rifles. It is completely pointless to use MGs for the most part, theres no consequence to running up and out of a trench straight at the enemy and theres no holding a firing arc down with suppressing fire to stop the enemy from advancing straight into a point. It makes defense effectively impossible.

You never know what they come up with with this super ā€œpopularā€ mega merging.

using engine not meant for FPS and expecting it to work perfectly is the problem. even big studios with 10 times more developers using mature engine like unreal are having problems with bugs, not to mention small studio using dagor engine.

this is more post of dissatisfaction with current state of the game. people are leaving cause they dont fix basic mechanics in the game.

i have contemplated leaving cause simply i am dissatisfied with devs. they are constantly adding new stuff, but are not fixing basic game. there is no bug triage system where critical bugs are fixed first and many bugs are just not acknowledged.
ffs i am sick and tired when i have to face 11-13 enemy team that roflstomps everyone cause not only do they have stack with coordinated players with team full of human players, but they also have 10-30% more players and my team may be filled with bots. and do you know what is needed to fix that bug? basically 5 minutes to just include count function when adding players to MM queue. this was reported year ago on forum, half year ago on CBR and then i needed to create topic on forum calling every dev in that topic just to have the bug acknowledged. and bug is still not fixed till today and is affecting ~3% of matches.

if devs cant guarantee basic premise of the game and that is 10v10 players game, can i really trust them to make a good game?

If they have time and ressources and the mood to keep adding campaigns (in the past) despite even consumers saying its too much and should rather fix old stuff/ find a way to get the engine working properly and redo the UI for no reason, I honestly don’t care anymore in terms of fairness/biased.

Yeah I have a huge issue with this too. This and no suppression are just game breaking as hell for me.

Yeah, I remember playing it ages ago when historical battles still existed. And your 1.3 vehicles didn’t have to fight time travelling BR compressed nonsense. WT is literally unplayable for me now and it seems Enlisted is slowly going the same way.
Tools to punish morons are being taken away while the worst type of players seem to be getting encouraged. I am sick to death of being forced to sit at the edge of grayzone for 25 minutes because the entirety of enemy team is ā€œsnipersā€ who can’t hit a barn side and are apparently missing the W key

It’s almost like they are funneling most money they earned to the War Thunder. Game has a lot of bugs that never been fixed - bipod with worse dispersion when put on the windows, ai that just stand there, ui glitching and replacing icons with weapons or equipment, can barely jump through the window, bot squads have much slower or limited spawns compared to humans, bombs/rockets having inconsistent damage model that got even worse with last update that also added demo packs and man carried rocket launchers that does zero dmg. Those are bugs that i only take off my head there are probably hundreds of other bugs that happen a lot. Games is at a pretty neglected state and i have no clue what their coders been doing for the past few years since cbt, every update still have old bugs and we even get new ones. At least their creative and modeling team does something, flamethrower and WP got fixed, we get a lot of events and weapons with squads, it’s a shame that new map take so long to develop.

But you get slowed when shot down with a machinegun, we don’t need weird suppression that makes your character unable to aim and moan or scream like he ran an entire marathon or saw a ghost plus it also gives you bad eye sight for few secs for some reason. That’s extremely dumb and forced mechanics in some games.

Suppression would make the maps better because we would actually use the trenches and cover instead of running out in the open, stopping, sniping 3 people firing at you with MGs instantly because there’s no suppression and the bullets flying around you mean nothing. There’s no blur, no accuracy lost, no penalty to ads, no anything. This isn’t cod, the maps are big, we NEED suppression. Every game with big maps like this has at least a degree of suppression for this reason exactly. Why even bother putting down fixed MGs on the maps without suppression? I am not talking about suppression that makes you moan lmfao wtf. I am talking about suppression that prevents instant ads while taking fire, require an extra second to line up a shot, suppression that at least somewhat causes a blur effect and suppression that provides a sense of the soldiers instinct to survive. Everything is STIFF and arcadey, yet the game is full of realistic things like leaning, bipod use, simulated vehicle parts that can be destroyed, destruction, fortification construction, full combined arms gameplay and interactable doors and windows that can be left half open or slightly cracked, bullet penetration, artillery support, squad based gameplay, the ability to look out all the different observation windows in a tank, the ability to move your head on a swivel while running, weapon leaning without bipods in any window or on the dirt of the crest of an artillery impact. MANY of what I just listed are things sim players are constantly begging for in their games and this game has it. The fact that this game doesn’t capitalize on its amazing roster of features by adding suppression at least in a ā€œrealistic battlesā€ mode is a HUGE shame.

You say ā€œfor some reasonā€ as if you wouldn’t feel like you ran a marathon AND saw a ghost while a machine gun was firing 100 rounds into the dirt infront of you. In reality youd be shitting your pants afraid to poke your head out at all and NO soldier would have the same quality accuracy in those conditions. While I understand you may not want realism, they should at least offer this in a new game mode, or better yet, designate YOU a game mode called arcade and keep the real game a blend of arcade and realistic as it has always meant to be. Realistic is the far more popular mode in war thunder and I guarantee it would be the same here.

If you are running out in the open, You are an easy target already. Who needs suppression when you should be dead. In this instance, it would just be a clutch for a player who already has the advantage, is missing his shots and needs extra help.

At one point I may have thought suppression was cool feature (in games where autos are rare or maps are vast). But I don’t think it fits well here. Would just make automatic fire even more prominent

Read what I am saying though, the advantage is NOT with the MG gunner in this game. Not at all. It is so easy to pop shot an MG in this game, I never see a single MG position survive longer than 5 seconds. I constantly kill every machine gunner the moment I hear them, with ease honestly. They are effectively useless. You are referring to sub machine gun automatics, which yes, are spammed, but sub machine guns are hardly going to be laying down meaningful suppressing fire and I would even be okay with them not providing the same degree of suppression in general, but when an MG 42 is spraying over a trench and you can lift your head and instantly pop shot the guy, with him firing right at or next to you I might add, with 0 effort, there is a problem.

I also believe the few people who are in protest to this, and it is quite few(every game ive mentioned this in, people agree, and all over my other forum post, people agree) are imagining some sort of extremely aggressive and debilitating suppression mechanic. Even a light suppression effect would ease my concern. I really do think it fits a LOT in this game actually. WW2 was known for extreme amounts of lead down range and the ā€œin the mudā€ feel that so many of our favorite films like saving private ryan or band of brothers convey, comes from people being suppressed. Recreating this feeling in video games has only ever been met with resounding applause and games that do it well enjoy much higher populations/approval than enlisted.

I was responding to the scenario you pointed out

I use MGs a bit, and If I have the advantage of firing first on a target out in the open, he is done, and his squad. You are describing people firing MGs without burst fire discipline or just poor aim in general.

IMO MG gunners need sufficiently working bipods more than anything.

The only Suppression effect I would be up for, is hit decals being larger, so that near misses kick up dirt and particles in your face (providing they hit near you), and be more of a distraction than anything else. Really don’t want more screen wobble and concussion.

Its just an opinion. doesn’t have to be shared.

It doesn’t have to be screen wobble, in HLL it’s just a dimming camera and a radial blur.

Lack of suppression is not as bad as the random bullet deviation. If lmgs are accurate then they will suppress by virtue of being set up such that no one can attack them directly without being cut down. Currently you can be prone and bipoded with sights directly on an enemy at near point blank and take half a mag before you even hit them.

Yeah I dont like random deviation, I much prefer a natural sway. Even with suppression that is what I would want.

I mean also MG shouldnt be the Assault rifles they are now
