If I buy elite battlepass will i get what i could have earnt

I’m at level 16 of the BP but missed alot and only got the free stuff. If I buy the battlepass now will I get the rewards retroactively? Is there much use in getting it now (what happens one I finish all 40). Thanks

But you need to manually claim rewards in progressive order.
