Currently the aircraft mechanics in the Pacific Campaign are beautiful and fun to play - but not particularly useful for actually winning battles. Aircraft are already a bit underpowered in the other campaigns (considering the far distance they need to travel to rearm), but this is exasperated with the need to land in Pacific.
WHAT IF we made the following changes:
More aircraft allowed - allow up to 5 aircraft at a time per team, instead of just 1 or 2
New win condition - sink an enemy aircraft carrier! Planes equipped with bombs and torpedoes are able (with great difficulty) to sink your aircraft carriers! Sinking an enemy carrier automatically captures the current objective on land (if you are on attack), or deals 200 immediate casualties to the attackers’ reinforcements (if you are on defense), while also doubling the time for aircraft respawn (if you sink one) or disabling the enemy air support entirely (if you sink both).
I think this would make the air war much funner and more relevant, since it can have a real impact on battle and also evolve into real aerial dogfights and bombing runs like those that starred in the Pacific campaign!
The AA for aircraft carriers should be very strong, so they’re difficult to sink.
This also won’t completely take over the battle, since a number of players will still need to fight on land, and attaining air superiority is not enough to win the battle on its own.
Separately - the aircraft carriers should be further apart from each other, and 2 or three destroyers places around each one. ACs don’t just sit around like that on their own, and it ruins the immersion.

I don’t like a win condition related to planes (after all Enlisted is about the infantry), but some kind of bonuses like extra tickets for the attacker if they sink a enemy destroyer for example would be nice.
One but, free to play may have an aa ht \ tank, and not an airplane, which is why one of the teams may have complete superiority in the sky (or a quantitative advantage), which will make the experience of playing Enlisted even more unpleasant
Yes, but that adds another strategic dimension - overplaying your odds at the air-war puts you at a disadvantage on land. 3 active infantry squads on land is enough to keep the battle going - especially if both sides are equally reduced - but leave your infantry too exposed, and you run the risk of the other side doubling down on infantry and overrunning your positions.
Honestly I just wish planes were more…exciting? They already required a Netflix subscription on some campaigns but on Pacific it’s so bad. It takes me 10 minutes to resupply only for my dumass to miss my pathetic 100lb bomb then back to the resupply zone we go woooo. If you plan on playing planes just do a favor for yourself and do a single bombing run, suicide and continue playing the game or have something playing in the background because it’s just boring as balls.
