I think we should remove the weird render distance limitations for planes

Strafing runs are quite impossible to do against infantry, because they only render when you already have to pull up again.

I think buffing strafing runs with MGs and main guns would make air to ground gameplay a much healthier experience.

There is a reason why people spam rockets, because they dont need accuracy - just shoot them into the general direction of the enemy advance to wipe some squads.

I think accuracy should be rewarded more.

yes yes yes!! i agree! but to get a easy kill with strafing run, you need at least 20mm just to one tap a soldier

Render Distance cannot be improved fast enough!! (waiting for years :frowning: )

Im a spoiled warthunder pilot that can see targets rendered miles away…

I think that would require discontinuing support for old gen consoles first.

But maybe I am being wrong, it’s just my assumption.

I am not sure about that - someone with knowledge pls confirm this, but I believe friendly infantry renders at around 1000 meters distance, hostile only at 500.

I think this could be switched, considering you dont even need to see you allies to begin with

iirc it renders friendly markers at 1000 meters distance, not infantry.

also isnt enemy render distance something like 300m and not 500?

Ja you got a point, but on newer console it was better at the open beta in Enlisted and they patched it bad.

sometimes I swear its like 250 meters.

Just please, I dont even care if it makes the game more intensive, this is a genuinely needed feature to make aircraft less cancerous Id say. As odd as that sounds.

whatever it is, it makes strafing impossible cause you need to pull up the plane at those distances…

100%…I had an engineer AA gun render right Infront of me just as I had to pull up (Whats worse is I knew he was there…I just couldnt see him)

Why didn’t you mark that AA then? Aka the proper way how to play all planes nowadays - spamming V as often as you can.

does that ever work for you?? I have never got it to mark a gun emplacement (that wasn’t marked by someone else first)…even When I know pretty much where it is (tanks and APCs easy…never seems to stick to gun emplacements)

Yes, it’s definitely harder than marking tanks. But as long as you have slight idea where it is, you can mark it quite easily.

But it’s true I basically never happen to randomly mark AA from 1500m distance away when I’m just trying my luck.

Whereas with randomly marking tanks, it’s quite common.

I have this sneaking suspicion that you cant mark something thats not rendered in…And tanks and APCs render in much further out

I also think its a relic of Warthunder Spotting…If no one on your team has LoS on the target…it de-renders

This would explain my experience

Tanks seem to have an aura field or whatever from the air, where if you scout near them they get caught, but emplacements you need to directly tag.

Ive tagged a far few MG nests certainly, some AT guns.

But honestly I think part of the reason they are rarer to spot is because they are very rarely built.

You are up to something. That would make sense.
