I miss the old days

lately i miss the first days i started playing, i didn’t care about the grind i enjoyed playing, it was the period where

  • ppd was considered the ultimate weapon
  • mg were used as m16
  • artillery was sold like bread
  • planes they vaporize half the map with each pass
  • the tanks reigned supreme spamming HE

I was learning to play, I was most of the time positioned at the bottom of the rankings, the tanks scare me and I was waiting for someone else to eliminate them, I always found something new in the maps and I had a lot of fun

the forum was extremely lively, especially it was full of german main that every day spamming for having an mg42 with 500 drum and grenade launcher, it was especially fun to make fun of them, there was always a laugh, and there were lots of good suggestions every day

then we come to today, even if i’m still enjoying playing it’s not like before, it lacks that spark that made me really appreciate it, it is true that it has improved but it has a lot of wasted potential that i wonder when we will get to 10 campaigns if there will only be the 30 of us guy of the forum playing and talking, even if it is moving forward, even if more people are join us, it seems me the game keep going at a snail’s pace no matter how far it goes, in my eyes it will always be in that spot crawling on the same grass

there is no way to end this kind of letter, so I’ll just say:

“my eyes looked to beyond what the game really offered”

RIP to good ye olde suggestions that were left unchecked in history

i will never forget moscow CBT, such a great game it was for me back in a day, full of BT-7 enjoyers, until PZ 4 came …

when battle for moscow it was a beautiful place with beautiful maps, where it didn’t matter if you got conquest mode or assault mode, the maps were so cool that no matter the mode, you just enjoyed it, while shooting your bolt action rifles, moments and maps that don’t they will come back

Let’s stick to the zerg rush gameplay, and close any chance to change the game with a useless progression system done just to steal money, what can go wrong?

i gotta say my first map in enlisted was vysokovo village invasion, such a beautiful map, then kamenka river as second and monastery conquest , i wanted to have maxxed germans but my friend convinced me to buy also soviet premium squad too… for a long time we were thinking if we wanted to even start playing…50 bucks was a lot and still is … but we made a decision and put 50 bucks for cbt acces moscow… so we started with germans and MP41 and it was just magnificient … then came wipe and our first topics begun :joy::fist:t2:

yes, a great map, although it was only conquest, it was just perfect.
although i also liked playing assault mode on the prokrovskoe city map, it felt like playing in stalingrad, fighting house to house, room to room, with your bolt action rifle or your 25 round smg, lol good times.

The thing I’m the most disapointed with, are certainly AI squads.

I expected game like this to be the link between FPS and RTS genre. Look at the Mount and Blade for example (especially Bannerlord). Meanwhile this mechanic is very basic.

i still remember how disoriented and amazed i was with quality of the environment and the overall pace of the game, we started looking for best tactics on each map… there was no 75% healing perk or other shit … explosion pack was scarce for us only premiums had it… our first games took till 3am thats how great it was … and we were talking about it ever since … before enlisted we played things like battlefield 2 and forgotten hope 2 (ww2 battlefield 2) … especially me was bit hesitant about multiplayer games … but enlisted looked like everything we wanted… no mindles NPc in comparison to battlefield 2, planes , tanks , focus on infantry… what else would one want yeah ?

and if you think about it it is not even a money problem, enlisted has all the potential to beat the current triple AAA but remains on such a low level that even the multiplayer of the first cod / Bf is superior to it for fun and gameplay what did the developers cost them to copy red orchestra 2, they would have made a bang with the war front and a system of progression by nation no to levels instead they are left with a poorly made copy of whatever they were inspired by

all the schizo hardcore german mains are just gone, reduced to atoms

we rarely get any 200+ posts, dick measuring topics anymore (atleast not nearly as much as a few months ago). and thats sad

yup, normandy was a bright light after moscow, i remember how people cried about browning auto 5 shotgun being OP, pz3 N couldnt be destroyed at all  im kinda miss m2 hyde premium squad i should bought it back then, but since then bad decisions were made at big amount from devs side, at least they found a way how to not wipe peoples progress all of a sudden and informed about wipe more properly in advance

i am similar i have verdun (gifted) never opened, rs2 i have only 10 hours, war thunder a hundred (is fun the first era), destiny 1 and 2 only the main campaign and some multiplayer, but enlisted is almost a year I also spent some money playing on it I always hoped that they would have decided to change their minds on the campaigns but with stalingrad I gave up 30 euros to eliminate that crap progression just for stalingrad? fuck it no I buy some food

I miss the old days prior to bomb nerf. Where I can fly a ju88 or A-20 and get 20+ kills a bombing run. I hate having to work for them now
