I just realized that all these times, i sucks ass because my wifi card is kinda toasted

when i finally use other method to connect to the internet beside the built in wifi, my performance jumps up a lot! this… explains way too much on why does everything rubber band really hard every now and then. uagh.

now instead of getting only 2K score on a very good match, i can even reach 6000! all because i can actually shoot where i am aiming at instead of where they were at a couple second ago!

Always a fun PC gaming moment when you fall backwards into the troubleshooting fix

You mean the bullets are supposed to go where you aim??? Guess I got to try that now.

Physical connection over wifi for gaming, everytime

this kinda explain why it was easier to play enlisted and a lot of other online games all those months ago…

fr fr, for weeks, months even, it feels like i’m betting everytime i shoot.
“will my shot actually hit the enemy?”
“how the fuck did he shot me?”
“WHY AM I STILL DEAD, I LANDED PROPERLY SLOWLY, BUT I STILL EXPLODE!!!”

these and some other question can defintiely be answered by “fuck, my internet is fucked.”

so true, but sadly unfeasible for me :slightly_frowning_face:

until that physical connection fries your computer… sadly it happened to me some 8 years ago on one thunder night…

oh shit…never had that…that is unlucky…

yeah telephone poles are prone to getting hit by thunder. at least my damage was mild, my friend had half his electronics fried at one time.

i still use physical connection, just that i switch to wireless when there is thunder storm (and sometimes i unplug everything if it is very close).

We generally shut everything off if there is a storm…havent gone so far as unplugging but never had that happen.

Storms are pretty rare here though

we have thunder storms pretty often, so there is more practical experience
there are numerous vectors from where your electronics can be fried: powerline and telephone wires, tv antennas, satellite dishes are usually most usual. powering down devices (by turning off the switch) may provide some protection, but lightning can destroy device even when powered down along any device directly connected to it.

so if there is thunder storm and lightning is in close proximity e.g. ~1.5km ( some 5 seconds from flash of lightning to hearing sound of thunder) i would unplug any valuable devices from power and unplug the router from main line.

… i have never heard this happening. thank you for sharing this information! in hindsight it’s kinda obvious
