I hate defending points

the game stresses me out
how restricted i feel

build something inside to stop the rushers
go out to build rally if you are still alive.
attackers are free to take their time
flank and ambush defenders that just respawned

you die raging in enlisted
if your bots are still alive you respawn to die in the same spot.

sometimes you die by bot = death by cheat

:rage:

There are some good instructional videos out there. Defending a cap actually means holding the flanks too.

For me its the exact opposite , on defense i can just rush in & rack up the killcount with dissreagard for my squads, while when on the attack you need to use a bit more tactic, not just set up a rally behind base & just run and gun with SMG squads.

When on the attack you need to set up flanking rallies, need to be a lot more conservative with burning squads as that bleeds tickets & many of the engineer built tools are far less powerfull on the attack too ( like barbed wire , HMG Nest , AT Gun , or even as basic things as a trench).

dont you get stomped from time to time
cause there is nobody in the point defending ?

Yeah it happens a few times, but its even more common that my potato teammates waste all our tickets on attack , with braindead frontal meatwave attacks.

ye that also happen
but at least you have more freedom in attack and have fun by your own
flanking and ambushing even if you lose.
in defense if your teammates are doing nothing you have to rush in alone and try to clear the point which 80% is not going to work

Dunno I have way more success on defense and way less fustration than on attack if the team is horrible. At least on deffense i can rack up 60-80 Kills if my team is totally garbage.

While on the attack its more like 30ish kill often getting spawncamped to the point that i desert instead of suffering trough the rest of that game. But to be honest i prefer both Attack & Deffense over that garbage Confrontation mode.

what do you dislike about it ?

probably short battle caused by roflstomp from either side.

or extremly long battle back and forth
on the same spots.

tunisia cave village

Am I in the minority here?

I quite enjoy that map!

As attacker there are plenty of flanking opportunities, as defender, it’s possible to hunker down with engies and block off those flanking opportunities.

i enjoy it in invasion
but kahif village in confrontation is a torture.
you never have time to reach the next point
so the game ends in a back and forth battle.

I hate defending to my core (I wish all modes were just confrontation-ized). When the enemy team is weak you just die of boredom waiting on them to stop sitting in spawn. When your team is weak, you just sit there getting shot at, bombed, artied and grenaded and you can’t really do anything proactive either
But let’s be honest - if you are getting stomped on defence - your team probably wouldn’t be leaving spawn on attack anyway

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I kinda like those back-and-forths. For one, it extends the battle time considerably, instead of just being a 5 minute one-sided kerbstomp.

Second, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose in those battles. The intense emotions and adrenalin rushes you feel after a great fought out battle, can never be measured, and make up some of the best memories of the game, in my ever-so-humble opinion.

You’re not alone, if the team does it’s job, they will hold off while you build.

Now the trick is landing in with a good team

Those are also the most lucrative matches. 10k score is a common occurrence during those, without even just spamming vehicles!

i experienced agony in those long matches that last 40 min back and forth
it was a hell because the repetitivness.

if the map were bigger , man i dont know as i write these words i miss heroes and generals. :sob:

to me its not about the lucrative aspect but the FUN .
yes i like long matches but not repetitive ones.

Again, a personal opinion, but I’d rather have a good 40 minutes of intesnse warfare where either side can win, than 5-10 minutes of frustration and kerb-stomping.

Scrambling a win out of a near-sure defeat is a chef’s kiss of multiplayer gaming. And I find it happens a lot in Enlisted.

Those back and forths are BASED. If both teams are reasonably sentient each fight over the cap zone is kinda different. Sometimes you fail a cap, but realise where the enemy team seems to concentrate and next time you xddrat them to death. Sometimes they lose mid only because you kinda got lucky and then they push you back. Your own squad cycle also kinda matters. You kinda want to have a lot of engineers before next point unlocks to ensure you get a good rally in but sometimes you cap by the skin of your teeth and all your engineers are dead at that point…so you lose the next cap just because no decent rally points were built in time…but next time you are ready
Overall it’s way danker of a game mode and I love it

And I remember playing like 2 hour long confrontation in Tunisia moisture farms before the tickets were broken

Depends, if it’s repetitive, thdn something is done wrong: it didn’t work the first or the second time, it might not work the third. When that happens I experiment with other routes, different squads, different tactics.

The trick is the enemy does the same!

A tip from me to preserve your sanity, thought:
What I do when my team just camps, or the enemy is vastly superior in terms of battle rating or stscks… Is hop into a plane and leave hell down there. Even if the team is losing (it doesn’t do anything anyway) I stop carrying and relax in the air, while securing the best pilot award.

Some matches, aren’t worth your sweat.
