I think this is the best solution, and should extending the time life of the mission, similar to the current custom game lobby and War Thunder’s Enduring Confrontation mode
Players can join and quit at any time, and each player can play their own role in the changing battles to enjoy the game.
The game loops continuously in a lobby where players can join and leave at any time, so you don’t have to worry about no players joining or running away players.
Since missions are long and will always start again, you don’t have to worry about joining a battle that’s ending.
It would remedy the oversaturation of lobbies that are only 30-60% composed of human players and A.I. filler squads.
If they implemented this continuous cycle of match-after-match, they could limit the number of open lobbies (based on the active players populating any given campaign, at any given time).
They would obviously need to have less open slots available than there are players waiting to join a game. The less active players, would mean less open lobbies (and this would fluxuate based off an algorithm that calculates how many people are waiting to join a game)
To add to this, say for example:
you have 40 people wanting to play as axis
you have 60 people wanting to play as the allies
It would be a good idea to only have FOUR open lobbies, while the other 20 have to wait their turn. At the same time, while players are queued and waiting for an open seat, there should be stats. showing how many players for each faction are waiting to join a game.
If players can see the ratio of axis vs allied, they might be more inclined to join the other side for a shorter waiting time.
The more people who are waiting, more lobbies would open (as per the algorithm).
And when people start leaving, and there’s not enough people to fill the total number of open lobbies, at the end of a match, players will automatically migrate to another lobby that is not currently full.
That’s the general idea.
Players can come and go as they please, and will not be penalized when life outside the video-game, comes calling.
If you’re so confident that you were playing with bots, why would you blur their names, which prevents us from verifying your claim that they were bots?
ikr, i tried to find his game since we can search for other’s people replay videos, i found couple which could fit this screenshot and there wasn’t much bots on most of them. I like little investigations
Ok, I see you have a healthy dose of curiosity. I have nothing to hide, I just did not want to mess around with the rights of people I dont even know.
But as you pointed out, we have replays, that are accessible to everyone. So it does really not make much sense to blur something out.
Btw, I checked all axis players except me are bots. (with maybe one exception)
Since I did not know how one normally verifies bots, I just checked their games on the replays website. I considered everyone who played over 48 hours continuously to be a bot.
