Realizations:
The player base is awful at this point and this is one of my source of frustration. I perform rather average, builded rallies, defended/attacked objectives and killed players, that you can’t ask from every random player I’ve met. This is what’s going to kill this game, frustration. If this is the average experience of any player, then what chance do you have from creating a fun game? I can’t help but think, no matter how much I improved on killing or building rally points or playing objective, it’s still up to the team composition that decides if I win or not, that’s frustrating, this game is advertised as team based, but to me the team is (s)lacking.
To me I think this game could use some revision on how you reward a player.
Possible Revision:
Remove the win exp multiplier but double the amount of points that a player receives during the match,
This is the only way I can think of a feasible solution, you’ll be rewarded on how good you did on that match, not on your team composition. I also say this will remove toxicity in certain play styles as you’ll be the only bearer of consequences of your play style, perform good? you get a good score, perform bad? you get a bad score. This should still equate on the regular 1.5 win exp multiplier so don’t worry you’re not losing out.
I understand your point. If you remove the reward for winning then players won’t desert as many games allowing them to play regardless of the outcome but get a more consistent score. This change alone might manage the player base per campaign a little better
Moscow Soviet oh man like every noob want to play this campaign where the new player experience in 2023 is drastically different compared to spring of 2021 with me being one of the people that started in Moscow and got the PPD-40 as early as around May where now its still a noob favorite but it becomes even worse of a shitshow than back then.
I’m always playing solo and I know what are the best and worst places and time periods where the playerbase quality that affects the quality of play go down during Summer and Winter breaks with kids out of school besides the surge of player numbers although its either low quality ones or sweatlords during events.
If only we get rewards for actually staying on a losing match and get a battle hero like give us the same bonus as the winning team considering bad players drag the entire team down.
If only we had a proper matchmake. Would gladly wait 5mins to get 1 decent game rather than absolute shitshow every 60seconds.
Frustration ? Fk that we’re past that long ago, its like having a shitty second job without pay.
While I dont really think the exp changes would alter certain ppl playstyles im not really against it either.
Why the fk not, while we’re waiting another few years for proper matchmake.
I don’t know the first person to leave because they lost a game In such a case, if that person existed, it would be a total skill issue. not even when he was carryng in league of legends
Absolutely NOT. This has shown repeatedly in other games to be an absolute game-wrecker. You think there are problems now, just wait until NOBODY pushes the objective at all. Why would they? There would be no reward for winning, only for getting the most kills. Games would be a pissing-match for snipers, greyzone tanks, etc, worse than they already are.
You are already rewarded for doing WELL. Battle Hero awards give additional xp. The win xp is the bonus that gets majority of the team to actually play the objective. Removing that is a bad idea across the board.
In your screenshots I noticed a fair number of bots. That happens. The other thing is that I’ve noticed, is if you go in as a solo player, you usually get matched up with other solo players. Far less often do you get matched up with pre-made groups. You want a different experience? Make some friends. I’ve had several games where someone seems to link up with me and help out. I send them a friend request after, and we end up grouping up. It’s a game changer.
The game was not meant for everyone to play by themselves.
There are 2 things that absolutely should be ADDED to help with this.
A system of spotting assists. Spotting markers make a massive difference to the game. Unfortunately, because there is no good way of getting assists for those that you mark out, a lot of people don’t and just try to get the kills themselves. This break in teamwork due to greed hurts the team’s chances of winning. If they added a better system for that, it would greatly help reward teamwork, and by proxy, the player.
Points for actually being on the objective. Right now you only get points for kills on the objective and for being there when it finishes capturing. This means that even if you fought like crazy for the objective but got killed right before it captures, you get no reward. There needs to be 1 point given for every 1% of the objective captured/ squad member on the objective. This means:
Just you, all your squadmates dead, capture 50% of the objective. = 50 points.
You plus 3 additional squad members capture 50% of the objective. = 200 points.
There needs to be a similar bonus for defenders as well, but I’m still working on how best that would be implemented. Probably a time based thing.
Getting more people on the objective at a time is important. However using this system would also likely lead to more people setting up structures to help safely move more troops across areas, giving engineers the points too.
This just incentivizes self-serving methods of acquiring exp more, and makes objectives less relevant.
A better way to incentivize players to perform would be minimum scores per x period of time, where if a player fails to meet a threshold based on the team’s average, they get an exp penalty. Or a minimum number of objective-related tasks.
Plenty of options. Just don’t make the objective moot.
I agree with you to a point, the only trouble is that sometimes players are providing other methods of support that might not be generating THEM a lot of points at that time, but is SIGNIFICANTLY helping the team.
Sniper spotters, my buddy has some games where he isn’t killing a whole lot of people and generating much score, but is constantly and ACCURATELY marking targets. This keeps our team functioning at peak efficiency, and pays out well for everyone because of the win bonus.
Engineers, I myself have several squads that I primarily use for engineering. It may take me some time of no score to set up, but when the fight comes to that area, we are much more capable of holding it, and my score goes through the roof! Not only that, but we are able to drain 3x or more of their tickets simply because our team is more efficiently able to defend against the assault. Therefore, a better chance of win.
Mortars, constantly spamming them and running out of ammo isn’t a good tactic. Sometimes you need to wait a little bit for your spotter to find a good point to hit, for maximum effect. Would they get kicked due to minimum score rules?
You see my point by now I’m sure. The game isn’t all about constantly pushing, it has strategy and tactics too.
In fairness, these bots were actually more useful than my teammates who are not to be found doing anything useful (i.e. building rallies or disrupting enemies or killing enemies), I’d definitely take these bots who play the objective more.
I already have some, I was just interested in trying things out from the perspective of a solo player
