It needs to go I am so sick of playing Germany and losing over and over again. Get the battle badge every battle but it is nothing but long drawn out low point losses with complete crap team. The matches you know you lost in the first 5 minutes because you are the only one building a rally point and not standing around with your thumb up your butt looking at trees. Or feeding the enemy tank kills. I do not get why Germany is so awful at almost every BR ? -1 is fine but -2 is too much considering you get ZERO for losing even though you are leading your team. Or at least consider 1 point for the top player on the losing team. ANYTHING but the garbage of making players stay in garbage matches.

If you bail on a loss its -2. 1 for the desertion 1 for the loss. So you have play bad matches even though the writings on the wall.

Ah come on dont cry my german TT is full doing U.S now 4planes then is it too but since i do U.S Nation i lose against Germany way more then when i was with Germany and fight against U.S and u cry? Just play the game it will be fineđ

In all honesty, I see more threads of people calling for stricter desertion penalties then doing away with them. IMOP DF should get rid of the penalty simply because it doesnât work. Some keep asking for stricter desertion penalties, however, lets be honest, short of suspending or banning people who desert there is no penalty that will stop people from deserting, and suspending or banning would just drop the player numbers, and we are always told DF doesnât have enough players to begin with, so, thatâs a non starter.
So, unless DF has come to the conclusion that penalties donât work and figure out a way to incentivize players to stay nothing will change.
What I would do? First off, shit can the w/l % and the ranking system. I have noticed an awful lot of people who desert and they played long enough to be a battle hero. Why quit then unless your trying to maintain an artificially high w/l % or want to keep your rank from dropping? Give the losing faction more experience and silver. Lets face it, this is a VIDEO GAME, not an NBA or NFL game that actually mean something. 
As far as Germans not being able to win, this is why I play multiple factions. Some factions are trending while others are cannon fodder, and people jump from one to the other. Currently, my level two Germans suck, but I am winning more with Soviets and Allies. A month or two down the road that will change. Iâm not complaining because it has been a long time since I could consistently win with Allies, and thatâs level three Allies as I still lose at level two.

Penalties for desertion are going to happen, deal with it.

But if they put in place some system of penalties against deserters, itâs simple.
I go into the game, take a tank or plane, and wander around the map waiting for time to the next game.

Anyway, the idea of increasing penalties for leaving a game early is just moronic. I have essentially unlimited things that I can spend my spare time and money on. I choose to spend some of it playing a game (sorry sweaty people, you are not actually fighting for freedom from tyranny, or the glory of the Reich or some other rubbish - itâs just a game)
If the match Iâm in isnât fun for me for some reason, Iâll try to find a match that is. Currently this means that I lose rank points; if it meant that I actually couldnât play another match because I am locked out, guess what I am not going to bother spending my spare time and money on?

I hear you and I have all the factions maxxed myself. I just like playing Germany since I have two extra slots but its hopeless across almost all BRâs. Its not about W/L I am not even that skilled. Its the constant pairing with REALLY bad players. People who cannot build a rally point nor understand running strait at an objective in front of a machine gun or tank is a dumb move. The rank thing is what is upsetting. I have been stuck on 149 for 3 days. Sure I can play Japan 5 and steamroll people but I like the maps Germany gets. Russia sucks with Stalingrad some of those maps are just junk. I like Tunisia, Normandy, Berlin and Moscow. 100% agree about flavor of the week. It was Japan awhile back and almost 90% wins. Again I like the German faction maps. Maybe add another 30 seconds for live players to be added. I like the idea of the losing side getting a bit more as well to help them along to being better. BR2 Germany was one of my favorites as well.

I always help my team. The engineer badges are the easiest to get. The only time refuse to help is if I am the only one building a rally point.
That is the winning tactic always! Team sucks get in a plane and tank for an easy badge. I end up doing this a lot actually.

I already do this without penalties.
I let the self righteous morons thinking not being xp piñatas on the ground is cowardly die their way and I leisurely fly.
Some teams are not worth carrying (why carry a team where everyone just want to snipe and ignore the cap?)
This way we lose faster and I keep my sanity.

I donât mind much about wins/losses, personally. If the match is more of less even it will always be fun (to me)
I desert only at the very beginning of a match, often before the start timer even ends, because:
- I recognize sweat stacks
- game mode I donât want to play
- I want to attack (for example) and been put on defense side for 5+ matchesâŠ
I generally donât desert mid match⊠Not because of statistics I donât care about. But because itâs mathematically disadvantageous to do so with already accumulated xp/income that will be slashed 30% off. I just endure those and fly.

when i saw title i thought that you were complaining about -30% xp penalty for desertion. but actually you were complaining about useless point penalty for ranks. even with highest rank you will not get any good reward, so why even bother with it?

From what I understand you can desert before the match starts? I know what you are talking about with the stacks. Destruction sucks and 6 point assault on ATK. Its like the worst of all game modes. The defense gets to recapture over and over again.
Because it carries over into the next season. Marshal is less grind I could care less about the stupid portrait reward (They need to change that shit also, who the heck wants a dumb portrait that has been recycled for the 10th time? -30 for the loss I could also care less about its that you get nailed for -2 and have to stay in a complete shit match when you know its a complete shit match in the first 5 minutes.

Itâs less problematic for the team when doing it during that period, because you can still get swiftly replaced by another human player.
But really, the reasons to desert are each their own. And all are more or less valid because everyone have different preferences/values. Something a few entitled twits fail to understand when thinking itâs âcowardiceâ

you only get to carry 50 points over to next season and you basically get that with any gold rank.
like i said before there is 0 rewards in whole rank system that is worth the grind. when you realize that you will save your nervesâŠ
